Finding out that Bill Bailey and Rich Hall celebrate Christmas together is amazing. The music alone must be transcendent. Like that scene in Red Cliff when Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang Negotiate an alliance through their Guqin playing.
Worst lie I ever told was telling my parents the reason I was crying was because someone I knew had died - but really I just desperately wanted to get out of the swimming lessons that I hated with a passion. That was a mess.
"Fun" fact: no matter how big your shirt is, you don't lose any mass. Alan's told that story before, I think it was on top gear, so that was already 15 years ago
Rich Hall was a fairly well-known stand up comic who appeared on David Letterman and Conan O'Brien rather often. He also had some success with those Sniglet books. He was certainly no Robin Williams, but I do remember him being rather more animated when he was doing stand-up here in the US. When I've seen him on QI, he is extremely deadpan. They rarely catch a glimpse of him laughing. He once told the funniest joke on Conan's show. I had to write it down. Of course, I can't find it now! Speaking of deadpan... Someone whom I've never heard of before British talk shows is Reginald D. Hunter. His low energy is similar to Rich Hall's energy, but I've never found Hunter funny and he doesn't seem particularly spontaneous with ad-libs. Granted, I've never seen his stand up performance. He might be a better writer/humorist than I have given him credit for.
@@sallystang5885 Reg D Hunter looked like he was going to be great when he first came here, but he didn't go down well at all in the end. He did a set that talked a lot about rape and making light of rape. Some comics can pull off that kind of material, I'm thinking maybe Bill Burr could possibly pull it off but I've not seen him try, but Reg didn't. It was cringeworthy bad and a few of his shows had walk-outs. I think he's still around but nowhere near as much as he was when he first came here.
@@sallystang5885 Think he's more a storyteller with solid hours, rather than one liners, and witty off the cuff remarks...like many, I don't think panel shows are really suited to his style.
This show is so fun loving! I love me some Mel. Jason is looking YUMMMM! I can’t believe Bette acted like that. I know we are all allowed to say NO but “are you fucking kidding me” was a bit extreme lol
I’m confused…. So bill was lying and didn’t actually have the dog issue and it was really rich hall? Or was rich hall just there and had more info? Thanks!
any Koreans here? Would be interesting to know how it's acceptable to permanently disfigure someone while she's asleep. particularly someone who makes a living of the way she looks.
Between 9:50 and 11:14, Katherine Ryan talks about falsifying fake documents for her small dog Biggy at Heathrow Airport. I really wish Katherine said DOGuments at least once! She missed a play-on word gag there! Documents for dogs = DOGuments!!! ☺😁😆
Most shocking for me was that Bette Midler refusing a selfie with Jason Manford after a performance. What a diva, who does she think she is? Jason Manford is comedic royalty here in the UK.
If I got asked 50 times a day, everywhere I ever went, by some twat coming up to me asking for a photo with them, it would get old real soon. Celebrities aren't your personal plaything to perform for you on demand if you see them in real life. They are real people with real lives and don't want to spend half their lives posing for photos with self entitled people who consider her a 'diva' if she doesn't do their bidding on command.
Mel Giedroyc' voice is so calming. I feel like revealing secrets just listening to her.
It is dangerously trustworthy 😅
So many people have given her so much ammunition and thanked her for listening. LOL
@@CamMcGinn1981 - it's a TV show though, so everyone knows what she knows.
“Never run with a trifle in an antique glass bowl.” I am always saying this.
Katherine Ryan's little baby Fred is the real star here! So calm and relaxed. 😍

That's hilarious wherr the most played is.
Every time I find a new panel show, I’m newly sad they they’re never available in the US and also that that’s where I live.
It’s impossible to not like Mel.
From about 12:00 it's very good to up the play speed by about 50%, it will make for a much more enjoyable experience.
Oh Alan, never felt so close to someone.

It's comforting to know that the 'hilarious' Keith Lemon character will never at all be thought of as funny.
At least humanity has some standards.
As someone from America, I find it amusing to see the career of Rich "Sniglets" Hall evidently enjoying a second wind in England...
Oh was he well known in the USA historically?

PS, Rich Hall married a British woman which is how he landed in England. I think he spends some time in Montana as well. I think?

Ya, can't assume she was alays like that, maybe just a bad day with pressure, but dies make her seen like a birch
I live in America and want more than yt chips. How can I watch this show
*that's RUclips clips, ftr, not white crisps...
so when do they start getting caught in lies then? is that part two?

The guests at Bill's home were Rich Hall and his wife, the one who made the trifle.
Now I know why I never became famous. Not enough embarrassing stories lol
Obviously,she didn't watch "Porky's" back in the day.hilarious boys locker room,glory hole,and a crazed gym teacher.👍
I've always said it, when Rich Hall smiles he looks exactly like Chuck Jones' Grinch.
why is Madonna in the thumbnail?
Bit of a clickbaity title that: No lies, just great stories.

srsly so many poo stories... Nabil, Rob Beckett, David Baddiel, Clare Balding, Phil Wang, Ed Gamble of course and now Rafe Spall, times three!

Laughing at her friend who no longer has eyebrows, b/c of you. Not good.

He isn't that good.
Who?
No, he's lucky if he's called average
I hate taking pics I don’t blame her lol and I ain’t even famous!

Does anyone genuinely find Rosie Jones funny?
Yeah, I think she's a hilarious person, but unfortunately her delivery suffers.
3:57 'Skelington'? .......Jesus Christ! 😣
What’s the problem? Jack Skelington is from Nightmare Before Christmas
It’s slang for “skeleton”; hope that helps.
It is a well known mistake that became popular as a gentle joke.
Not funny, but a gentle dog whistle to a long heard mistake, of which many are fond.
Why is she holding a baby lol
because she's a new mum smh
she probably found it in the dressing room
@@just-tess right, like it's something you see every day on television. SMH
i LOVE mel with all my heart. but she is mostly annoying and unfunny
As soon as Jason talks everyone turns off
