    Love those midnight to early morning bites on a glow-in-the-dark or a white large yo-yo jig.😊

    I remember the days when if you were about getting close to getting spoiled, they would bring the skiff out and put you in the skiff to run down and fight your fish. A lot of boats have stopped doing that and have just started tying backup rods on . The most I've seen is two backup rods having to be hooked together and thrown overboard. That was a big fish.

    Wait until you get bit on a Ray with a 15-20 ft wingspan. The longest I've seen somebody fight one of those was 7 hours, we thought it might be a 4 or 500 lb tuna for the first few hours. We had to stop fishing and finally Chase it down. They're not good for anything, but they do put up a fight.

    You know the fish is Big when it takes three or four gaffs just to get it over the rail.

    Anyone else agree that resting the ride on the rail and just reeling isn’t much fun at all. The rails on that boat are high af and it makes it almost impossible to use a belt and really fight the fish. Other then that it was a dam good trip.

    • @MrLikeke
      @MrLikeke 3 года назад

      No kidding. There is no action in that. By such means are these sportsmen acting like commercial fishermen; their goal is to land more meat on deck.

      @@MrLikeke yea I know why people use them but amberjack isn’t something I would consider a meat fish. Most of the times they are full of worms.

    Things have changed in my life--when I was young, deck hands SCREAMED at me "don't let that rod touch the rail", that's one thing. Second, we used a belt with a rod receiver--that has gone the way of the Dinasaur, now with "progress" they stick the rod in their gut, or their balls, that I admit I don't really get.

      No fish off on California sportfishing boats can be sold legally...add to the fact that these fish are being taken in Mexican waters then it would be doubly illegal.

    To all the idiots asking why are they keeping all the fish, it’s tuna god dammit. People drive hours just to get the San Diego area and from there they go out to the Mexico waters... you can’t catch tuna anywhere so to have a experience like this you gotta plan way ahead and spend a bit of money on it to have a week of fishing like this.

    I don't want to sound like a bleeding heart environmentalist because I love fishing and eating fish, but how can taking that many fish be sustainable? Was it really necessary to keep that many, both the giants and the footballs?

      @glenchase1294 8 лет назад +2

      +RikkiTikkiTavi I am sure that ALL of those fish will feed someone- Fill the freezer, friends family coworkers, ect. and that means less fish that are commercially sold, less processed garbage that we eat from the market

      +Glen Chase True. Tuna doesn't last too long in the freezer though. At least not as well as white meat fish.

    I admit that we probably dont need to catch that many fishes. But this is a business where people has to pay to fish and the boat has to provide. OK RIKKitikkitavi do you need more than one t-shirt,pants and shoes, more than 1 shower a month? No but why do you buy more? Your also causing environmental damages when getting those because anymore would be excessive according to your logic so you have no right to judge if your not a Buddhist!

    god cant fucking stand seeing them make you guys wake up in the middle of the night to catch bait, not just one night but multiple nights??? That alone should cut the cost of the ticket down by 2-300$
