man. i first heard this song in December 2015 by Frank Sinatra. I felt a peace like no other listening to it, even though as a 13 year old girl with a recently separated family i was going through a lot. i'd listen to this song from my wii u and just feel happiness for a moment. i clearly remember my mom and sister arguing while listening, and i almost felt okay. this song once again "hit different" in 2020. the year none of us saw coming. i live with the other part of my family and things felt okay despite being in a pandemic and having so much anxiety. it was my first semester at college and the nerves and tensions were high for me. now 2021. im dating this amazing guy for 10 months (as of December 2021) and things unfortuneatly arent okay in the world and in my life, but for the first time i sing this and just *feel* it. i feel the family feeling even though we're separated. i feel it with my boyfriend. im sitting here in the middle of october singing to this and i feel happy. things have been tough, but im slowly feeling happy again. the point of all of this rambling ive just done is to hopefully show at least one person that things really do get okay. im still trying to be really okay, but after 6 years its a lot better. dont ever give up. the real spirit of Christmas is love and happiness. its not about the gifts (which are nice) or the meals or any of that. its about home. celebrating our own versions of home, whether you're alone or with a huge family or maybe just an S/O...we have to learn to be happy with that. i do apologize for making this comment much longer than i ever thought it would be, but i sincerely want to wish every single one of you a peaceful end to 2021 and a Merry Christmas. we made it through another year, let's all be grateful! keep pushing and bring comfort to one another. love always, the girl who smiled through the pain
So my grandson kindly let me borrow his Bluetooth microphone and I sat out back after having a wonderful mini cigar and then sang my heart out to this on July 31, 2022 on behalf of everybody and everything in the grade everywhere!
