Wonderful Car. I watched with watery eyes. Memories. I worked for Alfa Romeo Dealership in the early eighties in California. Great Pride. The shop serviced ALL years and models. From the very very old to the GTV 6 / Milano. We saw them all !

Hello. My brother and I sat in a FOR SALE GTZ back in the early 70's. Asking price was $15k. That car was interesting, very spartan, driver surrounded by a tube frame and sheet aluminum. I was driving a 1971 GTV 1750 that I customized a bit beyond stock....with just a bit of help from Horst Kwech. Fun car if you kept the head re-torqued periodically.

The car is awesome and the preparation looks lovely and everyone who is in to these cars know how good is Formula GT engine. But for me, who drives a budget Alfa GT Junior Hotrod, the most beautiful thing in this video/car is the freaking gearbox!!! That is one awesome set of close ratios!! I wish I had one on my car!!

You can get more power if you retard the closing of the intake valve, the air momentum keeps coming even if the piston reached the bottom, also ad a glass of petrol to the oil to remove some oil viscosity. Have a container of water to reach the wight level and while you race let it leak slowly as not to be seen.

I used to a 1971 gtv 1750 with dual webers, I would race with some of neighborhood guys in their toyotas and Nissan, either stayed with or beat them , later I found out I was running on a single carb , rear carb throttle linkages was stuck! I knew I should have beaten them all the time , one of my favorites alfas that I owned, favorites is my gtv6 Maratona , never should have sold any of them, don't sell your alfas!

What a beautifully balanced driver's car. My father worked for Alfa Romeo in Italy for a long time and I have owned more than I care to admit. When people ask me what is so special about these belle macchine, I say that when you drive an Alfa, you become part of the experience and all your senses are awakened. In the video, the driver creates the driving line with the Alfa, and can put it virtually anywhere he wants, while the other cars cannot be driven that way. That is the essence of the Alfa Romeo.

This was the car that should never ever have been terminated. Alfa's 911. Imagine this design, perfected over the 50 years like the 911. I hate bureaucrats and automotive managers that are more into money-making than the raw ethics and passion of motoring itself. We still have this one in the family (under restoration for ten years) as well as a Porsche, always raced, loved and daily in use. The (perfect) car just impossible to retire.

I've owned a Bertone styled 2l GTV and a 1300 Junior yrs ago and I miss em both every day Still. The 2ltr was by far the quicker but the Junior handled better; it seemed more balanced + not much could hurt it on A and B roads. I'd give my soul, my name- everything to have either back. Outa my league price wise now - ya use tag be able to get one for buttons - not now though - unless one of you good folk wanna sell me one for less than £ 10k!!

Had been infected by the Alfa virus in the late 80ies when I humiliated BMW, Porsche and Mercedes on southern Frances' routes departementales with an 115 HP Alfasud 1.5 TI. The road handling of this small front driven, low positioned 4cyl boxer engine car was legendary at this time and I guess it still would be if they wouldn't have rusted away so quickly. There was a rumour that in the plant in southern italy where these were made the raw chassis were stored under the sky, so when it rained, which occasionally happened, the already rusty bodywork was just scanty lacquered over, which resulted in corrosion problems after only 2-3 years. Therefore you could buy these little marvels 2nd hand for very small money and have lots of fun.
I still drive Alfas after all these years, never any other brand for myself. Never.
