Couple things. Did you indicate to viewers to be sure they slide the threaded anchor nut up over wires and threaded onto USB before connecting wires and is there an in line fusible link between power source and the USB? other than theses two questions this will help so many of us with these bikes. I sincerely appreciate your taking time to make this excellent video. Thanks!
don't use a Dremel, just wiggle it back and forth if it doesn't fit. oops two years old, they make one that fits without cutting anything or any wires, I timed myself, it was plug and play, took 16 minutes start to finish
The USB has a plastic nut that goes on the threads so that it’s tightly “screwed” to the bike panel. If you cut the threads off you’d need to think of another way to secure the USB
You say in this video (at 13:31) that the center screw for the battery lid is "the big screw with an end on it", and "it's a little bit different than the ones that hold down the rest of the plastic pieces." That must be the one I lost. I need a replacement. The one I still have doesn't screw down the lid. Is that a 6mm hex tab? I think the others are 5mm.
Yep, it's a 6mm. I picked up a substitute at Lowe's (plus a rubber washer and hex wrench set). Not the original head but it works. I'll order the original kind if I can find it.
I just use cheap marines USB ports from Amazon. I’ve used them on several bikes. In my experience every once in awhile you get a bad one that only works a few months but for the most part they last. The one on my DRZ is over 4 years old and been through all kinds of weather. Note that you will need to widen the hole on the Trial 125 slightly for any standard marine USB to fit. As you can see in the video I just used a dremel. Here is a link to a similar one on Amazon. a.co/d/hZP78pg
Instead of grinding the hole out, I found that a step drill (the multi-sized ones used mostly on sheet metal) makes a quick and neat job of making a round hole.

We did out battery tender pigtail yesterday, 11:00 ran it out the back, top of the air filter panel.✅

Why dremel on the bike metal rather than the plastic threads on the 25$ usb port?

What size are those black push rivets?
They are 6mm push rivets. The Honda part number is 90116-K0A-E11
