Confirmed my thinking, as I prefer to feel a heavier head in my swing rather then a heavier shaft. It gives me more feel an control off the head, just as you explained. 🏌️
Having tested it, I don’t think I’ll ever offer a heavy shaft again, and I would advise all these big strong lads to do this test before committing to heavy shafts, as it comes at a big sacrifice of feel!
@@garymartingolf it definitely did, i recently got a new driver and I feel the shaft is much lighter in comparison to my old one and I can hit almost twice as far when I connect right. Good to know its not just in my head lol.
Now that is a fantastic question which I can’t honestly give you an answer top. In terms of heads, I could actually do this test to see how much difference it actually makes. Do you have two heads in mind ?
@@garymartingolfMy Fitter says not, he graduates my shafts through the bag, and it works. You swing differently with driver to wedge, swing speed differs drastically. All my shafts are light, but slightly different flex. Driver 65g S, fairways and hybrids, 50g S, irons 50G R (stiff end of R) all are graphite. wedges are Vokeys with wedge shafts, so S, steel shafts, they really work compared to my old Stiff steel shafts. And i play the windiest course in the SE
Don't wanna sound like a bellend, but Sam's swing looks so goofy to me. Man hits a hell of a golf ball, so it don't matter, but it just hits my eye funny.
Yeah, he’s got his own style of swing. I’m not sure of his pathway into golf, but he’s definitely grooved it so that he can replicate it pretty consistently ⛳️
Very enjoyable test Gaz and great to see it being done out on the golf course
Thanks pal 👌🏼
That last green looked wicked. Camera didn’t do the slope on the left any justice clearly looking how yours went straight right and ran forever!
Yeah, that was a beast of a slope 😅😃

It is similar to the quandary of Round or Square tee bags….
Have a good day 🤣🤣
Wild, I literally meant to look into this yesterday but I forgot to. Get out of my head gary! 😂
Haha, brilliant! Hope it gave you some answers.

Gaz, if a particular shaft works for me, will it be the same with a different head?

Thinking of buying i230 or i530. Really enjoy my rifle 6.0 shafts and wondered if these would still be best fit.
Well done gaz 😊
Cheers pal 👌🏼
Gaz...all you need is a 7 iron mate 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
