    I was just thinking about this nostalgic game and didn't expect anyone to try and speed run it. Splendid run you got a new subscriber here!

    I swear I just saw you on twitch yesterday with a title saying sub 4:10 attempts, so congrats on pulling that off.

    That hop skip to the L bracer is tough. I tried learning this speedrun years ago and could not get it down. I have a physical copy so no save states to practice. GG on the run!

      Thanks! You could always practise just getting the hop storage first then try doing it at twinpeak once you have that down but yeah, it's a tough one.

      @@zacharylawrence one day ill revisit it. It helped to see your inputs becuase back in the day there was a description but it was less than clear how the trick worked/actual inputs. BFM is a top tier game even by today's standards on my opinion. Glad it's been getting some love over the last few years.

      @kylecorrales9962 hey tell me about it. When I first try to learn from watching someone, I didnt know you needed to hold X while storing the hop lol. Agreed though, this game is wonderful. Been playing it for about 24 years :D

      @@zacharylawrence sounds about right. I had it around the time it dropped too, the 90s were a heck of a time to be a kid!

    Watching the Vambee Warriors just instantly die was so funny 😂 I remember that fight being stressful in my first playthrough.

    Wait a second.....in the more than 20 years I've ever played this game, I've NEVER seen it show the words "Strike!BONUS EXP!"
    HOW IS IT SHOWINF THAT?!

    • @zacharylawrence
      @zacharylawrence  Год назад +3

      You just need to get a strike in vambee bowling. I do a glitch in the run where I knock out most with my sword then hit the last one with a ball but it's the same idea regardless.

    I never even made it to the first guardian as a 4-5 year old, played through it again as an adult with a copy from eBay, only to find out the game would freeze before I could make it to the final boss fight. You’re insane dude.

    What is the purpose of the zombie bowling grind?

    • @zacharylawrence
      @zacharylawrence  2 года назад +2

      One of the toys requires you having hit an average level of 28 (as well as having beaten the game). There are some minor exp gains throughout the run that are routed in as well as a lengthy body grind on red ants in chapter 5 but the exp efficiency for lumina, fusion, and mind is all extremely high with the vambee bowling method so the bulk of leveling is done there.

      @@zacharylawrence Thanks for the explanation. This game was my favorite PS1 game. Impressive speedrun!
