Hi, regarding the crankshaft seal on the left hand engine casing. The open end of the seal have to face towards the left side. If you face the open end of the seal towards the crankshaft, the lips will touch the bearing. Slowly but surely the seal will be rubbed off and thus causing transmission/gear oil to enter the crankshaft and make the bike runs really Rich. This happened to my bike, i had to remove the left engine casing and remove the seal. Put a new seal with the open end facing to the left(transmission/gear oil side) and it works.
@@bikedogtor1663 its never to late. You actually can change the seal even if the engine is mounted on the frame. I changed my crankshaft seal when the engine is still on the frame. All i did was draining the transmission oil, remove the left engine casing and the balancer gears. Then use a o-ring pick tool to pry out the seal. Then replace it with a new seal. Hope this helps. Cheers.
The seals are in the crank in the RIGHT DIRECTION ., both opened sides face the left side, and a rubber seal goes next to it on the crank , then the plastic cog and the metal one
Just wondering, the workshop manual says just to use them to level the crank case out. Nothing about the heat shield? But it makes sense, there is no oil to cool down the shaft seal on that side.
Bikedogtor It fits in between the inside and outside bearing races, so would not have any contact with the crank to case fitting and/or bearing fitment. Also the workshop manual says to do two things absolutely wrong and I found this out on the Aprilia rs125 forums, one of those was the left hand crank seal 👍🏼
Hello. You did a great job. For crankshaft i saw that you used bearings 2x 6206 C4 SKF. The rest of the bearings (6 pieces - 2 x 6205, 2 x 6203, 1 x 6302, 1 x 6005) in the gearbox are C3? Thanks
Thank you. I am not sure because my list doesn't exist anymore but yes the gearbox bearings are c3 and make sure to get the right bearing cages. The standard ones are not right here.
I can explain how bread trick works pack centre of bearing with bread an pack down with tool an repeat till it starts lifting the bread forses it's way under lifting bearing
Lg
Good job coming along nicely. Look forward to next video liking the bike table could do with one of them myself
Thank you! Should have bought that bike lift earlier! It helps so much

Good point, unfortunately now it's too late for my engine

makes sense.
the open side of the seal needs to face the liquid (gear oil). Therefore the closed end needs to face the dry side
Blind bearing pullers are cheap as hell, well worth the investment for a Chinese set :-)

Pat Riot ❕ thank you for your comment. I mounted both open sides of the crank shaft seals to the inside but it will work.
Bikedogtor did it work? 👀
@@benmassive5517 yes and I still believe it's the right way. Although you find different opinions on the internet.
You were right to use that washer.,,, it's actually a heat shield for the crank seal on the dry side 👍🏼🙂

The middle small bearing you can take it out using bread..is a simple way to remove it..
Using bread? Can you explain how?
I can explain how bread trick works pack centre of bearing with bread an pack down with tool an repeat till it starts lifting the bread forses it's way under lifting bearing
i just looked it up. hilarious
i never knew, you could excert so much preassure on bread
@@Tiwey will definitely try this method next time 😄hard to believe this works.
@@bikedogtor1663 It really works, tested in practice. I wonder who came up with this tricky way :)

Ist alles schon verkauft 😉
if the bearing does not fit perfectly straight and tilts to one side, using the press you can split the casing .....
Yeah right
Hello, can you please share name of your work manual??? thank you
It's the original aprilia workshop manual. You can buy it online.
