- Join us in this thought-provoking conversation with Namyal Angmo, a dedicated scholar and social activist from Ladakh, as we delve into the realities of women’s lives in the region. From their significant roles in society to the challenges posed by patriarchy, we explore the rights and freedoms of Ladakhi women compared to men. The discussion also addresses how foreign writers have portrayed Ladakhi women, debunking misconceptions, including the idea that cultural or linguistic nuances erase the realities of gender-based violence. Together, we uncover women's strengths, struggles, and untold stories in Ladakh.

Although the discussion/interview is a perfect example of paradoxical analytical overreach. On one hand, you guys are implying the outsider's records of Ladakh are orientalist in approach since they exorcise the land and the people however, applying the same western theory of power structure, identity, gender etc.
This is the primary approach to deal with the portrayal of Ladakh in colonial and postcolonial narratives. The westerners are being hypocritical by propounding theories about colonialism, power structures, class distinctions etc. At the same time, they are deeming the others as primitive, pagan, inferior, as well as humane, honest and exotic invoking the idea of noble savage.
Why he's not gud to put questions on the society of kargil where voice of women has been supress, why only the society of leh ...
And for your kind information the protest were held in kargil after bufercation of articles 370 and kargil was wanted to remain with kashmir...
Kehna kya chahte ho?
Where is suppression? You can see women in every field doing jobs and education than boys in all over kargil
Rgulab ba chu mathob (wrong). Rgulab ba chu ma rnyed (right)
I think you are from Kargil because I can easily understand your language what you are saying so I request you to change the name of Fatima in your song and replace it with another name. Because you don't know who Fatima is? You don't know why we name our women Fatima. Behind it is not only the name of women, but also our religious sentiments.
Fatima is a role model for our Muslim women so you can't put her name in music.
Music is also forbidden in our religion, so how did you put the name of a Muslim woman in music, especially Fatima?
Why you guys always come to religion at the end😅 , in today’s world religion don’t control man but a man control the religion, know the reality my brother..
Meanwhile enjoy this song , it’s a very beautiful song

Oh bhaii! Konsi dunya mai jee rhe ho? She is referring to a folk song which is written by someone else. Also the name Fatima is common in Muslim society, Fatima is a name of an unknown girl of a village in the song. Only a fool can refer it to the pious Bibi Hazrat e Fatima (sa).
By having access to social media and saying whatever you want doesn't mean you can thrust your meaningless ideas on others or provoke someone.
@@Himalayanboy-e2n- they are very clear but it's foolish Buddhist who don't ready to learn
