Close Encounter with the Snapping Turtle

After staying on the nest all night, our loon mother left the nest at 4:40 am. Within 9 minutes, our neighborhood snapping turtle paid a visit with near disastrous results. Luckily, the egg was not found by the turtle and he left the nest within a few minutes. Hearts were racing!!!
