Actually unless you went on a place that the car would drag it probably wouldn't. The bronco has manual hubs and im seriously doubting they where locked as they where driving on the street. So you have no 4wd advantage. In 2wd the bronco would prob get less traction due to is lighter weight even with a slightly more aggressive tire. The bronco is also powered by 302 and weighs 3700 lbs. The impala has a 454 and weighs 4200 lbs. So ground clearance is the only advantage you could gain.
@vincemajestyk9497 even then a 400 is much faster however you you could certainly get a 454 in 75 in that. Local sheriff's office had them in 75 with 454s while ksp had 460 fords.
That movie was based on a true story. I just watched it on YT a couple months ago (free). Hadn't seen it in decades. I think on Bezo's platform it was pay to view. I saw it as a kid on HBO in the early '80's. Hard to find apart from digital form.
Sure it's a movie but with the Bronco off the road it would be an easy and fun escape from the police.
I was thinking the same thing.

@@jeffreyrigged Most of those Impalas had a 350 or 400 especially if it was a cop 9C1. Those ones then were mainly local 'cruisers'.

Over the Edge! One of my favorite movies as a kid
The best thing about this one is Jimi Hendrix jamming in the background!
Cool!!!
Most people take it out of park to get the Bronco moving.
Most people but not actors....😎
at the 1.20 mark lol just remember boys and gals P- is for drive and D- is for Park
They were kids. The prop guys wouldn't let them touch the shifter I am sure.@@LongIslandMopars

At 2:17 mark wait that worked with one kid giving the bird and the other shooting cop car which in turn caused the sheriff to crash.
Yeah sure it does
Did Matt Dillon ever get his teeth fixed. I imagine he did.
