I once got to help out with a Make A Wish kid once! I used to work at Build a Bear, and similar to one of the kids in the first story, the kids got to go on a shopping trip in a mall. We were told ahead of time to make sure things are safe for the kid and to inform the workers of cost and everything. I actually got to be the one to stuff the bears for the kid and her siblings! She was(Understandably) tired, but everyone was excited to make and dress their bears however they liked. We also got some of those rubber bracelets that say "Make a Wish" on them for the people who helped out.
In 1995 I got to make a wish. I had stage 4 cancer at 16 month old and it later spread into my lungs for a short period before I kicked it in the butt. About the middle or so of treatment my mom pulled several strings to let me make a wish. I was under the age of three, which is under the age limit since a kid that young can't really decide. I was my parents only kid and I think my mom picked for me but she choose Disney World. I can't actually remember most of it other than getting picked up in the limo and part of the hotel. Both my parents told me I had a blast and we have so many photos with me on different rides with one parent while the other took the photos. Several with me and various characters. My mom told me stories as I got older on how I ran from villians and wanted to see the princesses. I feel my wish was actually more so for my parents as to them if I passed it would be a happy memory of the family together instead of just constantly being in the hospital. Currently at age 30 again I barely remember the trip, and currently suffering from minor long term effects of Chemo, just lost hearing in my left ear, I don't regret the Wish and once I have money to spare I plan to donate to them and if I become an author to never turn away a child who wants to met me. I have written a few children's books just haven't published them yet.
There was a girl I went to high school with who was diagnosed with cancer, and her wish was to be an exchange student. Make-A-Wish organized for her to be part of our school's foreign exchange program which she wasn't previously eligible for, and she spent almost the entire school year in Germany. She's doing well now, she's one of the happiest people I know. Brightest smile you've ever seen and she works at our local ice cream shop every summer! :)
'That dang Rat Casino'. 😂😂 The best line. So glad they deep cleaned it & opened at night for 1 kid. Granted, that place probably needs to be deep cleaned regularly. Grab the tissues for this video! Such sweet kids caring about their sibs & parents too. Thank you to everyone that helps with the wishes, these kids & families deserve so much.❤❤❤
Just imagining the woodshop teacher being asked to build a simple doll house, saying “no” to everyone’s horror, and then immediately setting to building a super cool playhouse

I was going to make a joke that maybe she couldn't go because she was in Albany (despite the fact that the Rescue Rangers cartoon _did_ in fact air on TV in Albany on WXXA FOX 23), but you specified that this was in Australia. Anyhow, I guess meeting Chrissy Snow is nothing to sneeze at, but it'd hardly be my _second_ choice.
I remember from a different video about a kid who wanted to go to the moon for their wish. It was rejected so the kid decided to go to Italy instead. Fun, but not quite the moon apparently...
