Ebay sellers: this card has a crease across it, my dog chewed on it, it went through the wash 3 times, and the surface is scratched up. I guess it has some wear so I’ll put lightly played
As someone who hasn't been into the game for many many years, your videos inspired me to dig out my old cards. I thought I remembered having some pretty awesome and possibly expensive vintage cards but I realized I had almost nothing of value when I looked up the prices a bit ago haha. The most expensive card in my collection I found was a Dark Palidan from DMG (Duel Masters Guide with the DVD and Yugi and Kaibi structure decks). Was kind of disappointing that I realized I didn't have much special but I really enjoy your videos man, bringing back so many great memories of playing with friends from school, going to card shops on the weekend with my Dad buying cards that looked cool :) Makes me wish I had kept playing and collecting and I sometimes get the urge to get back in but seeing your videos everyday scratches that itch enough for me lol. Thanks for the insane daily content man. I look forward to your videos every day cause you're always opening up something crazy.
Just recently been getting back into Yugioh, started pulling out my old collection. Definitely a great video to show me how to find the value of my old cards. Thanks for the help!
The cards which have the most value for me are the first ones I got as a child from trading with friends or buying packs. Not comparable to when I pull an expensive card from a new set... My favourite card till today is my blue-eyes from SDK which is not worth a lot in the condition it's in but for me it's priceless!
Nice guide and clear explenation! I wanna add that in Europe cards are valued also in different gradings (MINT, NEAR MINT, EXCELLENT, GOOD, LIGHT PLAYED, PLAYED and POOR), so if you see Light Played, doesen't mean that the card is just one step down than the Near Mint. Is a card between the heavy played and the moderate played
I am so thankful you released something like this, I've only recently gotten back into collecting YuGiOh after 10+ Years and had no idea what I was looking at to value my cards! Thanks for all the amazing and helpful content Ruxin
In 2002, my dear father bought me a STACK of about 40 cards that he bought from one of those coin operated crank machines, like the ones that sell gumballs or such. They were all in these cardboard sleeves and I thought they were so cool. I got a full Exodia even. However, I realized quickly that they were just stickers. I’m so glad my dad only got those from a crank machine and not from EBay.
Just got back into yu-gi-oh a few weeks ago after years of not playing I'm 27 now and in having fun but there is no better feeling then seeing return on your cards especially ones you don't typically main or side board
Awesome video! I think a great part 2 for this video (more so for the people coming back into the hobby) would be - how to distinguish original vs reprint; and - what type of misprints actually make the card more valuable (there’s articles online, but always good to watch a video instead)🤣
I just find out that you are taking these videos couple of days before..im 26 and almoast forgot about my childshood and cards i ised to play so this is giving me some nice memories. Also i found out that i have ultimate rare Elemental Hero Shining Phoenix Enforcer which is quite expensive card.I will continue to watch you and those 3 cards would be great start 😉
I love your pack opening videos, but I feel like we desperately needed this video. I messaged you multiple times with questions about this kind of stuff. Absolutely fantastic content ruxin. Keep it up
I really learned a lot from your videos. I started watching last year at November or December, and just from watching your videos I learned about how to price a card and how to assess the condition of the card. Thank you for everything Rux ❤
Useful video. I got back into YuGiOh recently and have decent collection, but don't have grading here in EU so I find this video useful for explaining how to grade yourself. Also, pls do video on how to tell rarities.
I remember that as a child when I had my cards they were fake, since they were expensive and I could not pay them, but now watching your videos I entertain myself and I remember my childhood so good!
Enjoyed your video as always~ I was watching your hands in the reflection of your graded cards. I see you talk with them, even though we wouldn’t normally be able to see them !
When I was young, probably around 2002-2003 my father took me to NYC to go see Ground Zero. Afterwards, we stopped at a card shop and it was HUGE. So much merchandise and I ended up finding the Egyptian God cards and I freaked and my father purchased them. We would go back there every few months or so and I would buy so many cards. It wasn't for quite a few years that I noticed something was off with the majority of my 8000+ cards. They had this shiny foil that was removable, certain marks were there or weren't there, logos missing, washed out colors or bright foils, and even a weird watermarked removable foil. Every single card we bought at that store was fake. I still cherished them of course since they were from my father, but man I was disappointed. It still baffles me how that man was in business for so many years without someone calling him out.
Thanks a lot many that was very useful. I recently got back to yugioh and I had no idea how to value my cards. Also can you do a video explaining the different rarities?
@@miloscarapic4502 I understand what you meant to say. It's just a little joke. The man can do with his money as he pleases if is responsible about it.
Thanks Ruxin some really great info in this video. I just got back into it after 13 years of not playing and dusted off my old deck. Wish my younger self took better care of the cards.
When looking up cards on ebay it's easier to put in just the set code and whether it is 1st or unlimited. Then you can add the condition on at the end to filter further.
it's incredible how some misprints lower the value of the card while others raise it. I think misprints shouldn't affect the evaluation of a card's condition because they do not depend on how one keeps the cards. However psa and other companies don't agree my idea 😂
Well for some collectors a misprint is welcome. I recently pulled a misprint Enlightement Paladin, the card itself is worth like 50 cents but because of that misprint the lowest is going for around $20 on Ebay. I mean...
@@juannavarro8497 i'm ok with the fact that misprints increase the value of the card because it make the card "unique". Again, i don't see any connection between card condition and misprint because these last one don't depent on how we preserve the cards.
Man thanks for the video im also getting back into physical collecting and I haven't really even tried to grade my old cards since I didn't really know what I was doing. Now I might need to go back through and take a look!

very informative video man. I just started selling cards on Ebay and I try to be very honest about the condition of cards, even try to describe and provide closeup pics of imperfections etc. since I am new seller.
This was definitely a great help. I just recently started to recollect after my old collection was thrown out by family, and so I needed a way to get rid of the extra copies I’ve started to collect.
Great video. Needed this to assess my own cards and when buying others. I feel like some people praise their condition too high and when you receive its alot worse in condition
