I feel like food delivery in China is so much more advanced and customer-friendly than the ones generally found in western countries. When I did my exchange in Shanghai, the delivery guys were all so considerate and the service was out of this world. Whereas delivery in Germany or the Netherlands amounting to 45 minutes really isn't even considered an exception, but more of a rule.
And in western countries they charge you so many fees or high fees for delivery and when you add tip with it, it costs so much that you don’t want to order it any more.
In Toronto, the “priority delivery” with additional charges means direct delivery ; “standard “means the delivery person has one stop on the road before reaching you 😀😀 takes 40-50mins in general (mostly by bike in downtown area). A large pizza generally costs C$30-40.

In Sydney Australia, we've once waited our dinner delivery for over 3 hours, the App (Menulog) said the driver had been waiting at the shop, but when we called the shop, they claimed the driver never showed (and apparently thats the first time). At the end, the shop owner closed their shop earlier than usual and delivered the food to us.
oh dear. I'm in Sydney too but fortunately I never had this problem. Uber eats or Menulog deliveries have been on time and fast. Our, mostly, Indian and Chinese deliverers are super efficient.

They tack on a 0-70% surcharge on every order item depending on the restaurants, and on top of that there's a delivery fee, and tips that supposedly go exclusive to the riders but i've heard from riders this may not always be the case. for an example: one place near me sells an order of HK style BBQ pork (aka Char Siu) for HKD 110 at the restaurant, on Deliveroo the exact same item with the exact same amount of Char Siu the price is HKD 178. a 61% increase for a generic transparent plastic box of pork that takes 1 minute or less to chop into bitesize pieces and put into the plastic container the same as you would if you order take out at the restaurant. no additional service or anything. That restaurant's other items surcharge on Deliveroo are roughly between 15% to 70% with no apparent logic to why they have different surcharges. Some other restaurants maybe more even across the board but the surcharges vary wildly, with some having zero surcharge at all so the ones that have ridiculous surcharges seem scammy at best. Not to mention some have surcharges but also permanent discounts (and if you do the research, their "discounted" prices are still way higher than the cost to order takeout at the restaurant, so it's likely the restaurants are just deflecting the delivery service's commission charge onto their customers. not to mention, some of these restaurants have an actual discount for takeout orders if you order directly at the restaurant or call the restaurant for self-pick up.) It's all very suspiciously "seafood price"(海鮮價: no fixed price, based on the mood of whoever's in charge), as the Hong Kong slang goes. The HK wings of both those companies(UK's Deliveroo and German owned Singapore-based FoodPanda) are garbage compared to Meituan. As Ah Fu's wife shows, and i can attest to the same experiencve, the restaurants in China have far better quality packing based on what they serve and the overall outer packaging is also superior, with staples and stickers to show the food has not been tampered with once sealed by the restaurant, and more cardboard separators and drink/sauce/soup holders to prevent spillage. Roughly 60% of my orders in Hong Kong are at varying degrees of spillage. Unfortunately the government couldn't prove anti-competition and with UberEats now gone, we have no other choices than to bear the heatwave and go out to order take-out if we want to eat at home.
The delivery services in both USA and China are underpaid relying on customers tipping to make up. I don’t think they meet the minimum wages after factoring into travel time and fuel.
I don't think tipping is customary in China. China do charge delivery fee but it is usually reasonable. Of course, people live in the west often made these assumption everyone is underpaid in China.

And in western countries they charge you so many fees or high fees for delivery and when you add tip with it, it costs so much that you don’t want to order it any more.
the reason for that is the cheap human resource in china.
This is just based on labor exploitation.

在西方國家, 如果是正宗的中餐, 不是那種Westernized Chinese food的話, 基本上味道都不會差到哪裡去. 而Westernized Chinese food則不是中國人會喜歡的味道.
这个对比很有意思！德国的外卖真的太惨了，上次在Wolt点了个越南米粉，等了两个小时才送到，已经饿到自己煮面吃了。想到去年回国在成都隔离，外卖超多选择，又便宜又快又好吃，真的还是标准中国胃。

I'm in Toronto as well. The delivery here is in general very good. I don't feel big difference between here and China. But yeah except it's pricy.

因为在中国劳动力最不值钱，但是劳动力在欧洲是最珍贵的，非常正常。

別說其他城市，柏林的外賣還是很差... 基本上只有Lieferando，Wolt和最近Ubereats可以點，而且還會被拒單。我覺得阿福太久沒回德國了吧，德國的中餐廳自配米飯的，不用另外點 😂 然後Lieferando那個時間基本上看著高興，沒準確過。有時候說還沒出發，但已經到了，或者快到了，其實根本還沒有... 另外小費給的好多啊！可能我窮，我都給5％😂😭 但還是很多人不給的（我認識的不論德國人或非德國人都有），小費文化在德國還不是很誇張。但柏林grocery delivery很好了！以前只有rewe和edeka自己的bringmeister，真的我的天啊，Termin都約到後個星期。現在有了Gorillas，Flink，Getir之類的，基本上10-15分鐘就送到了（但是這些新創對員工不太好.. ），藥品最近也有Mayd，也是半小時內送到。
我觉得柏林应该此类服务绝对排全德第一了，其他城市更差

身在澳洲的阿村（阿德莱得），这里的外卖品种很不错，但就是配送费太贵了。除了配送费还要加收服务费，加起来会有10澳元那么多。最喜欢土耳其烤肉；越南菜；黎巴嫩菜。这里的中餐外送真的不怎么样，家附近的一家饺子面食倒是不错。

去香港的时候 试着用过Uber eat 与大陆有个明显区别 大陆顾客下单 钱是先进平台 过程中外卖小哥不用承担费用 即使因为餐品有问题 顾客退单也就没什么风险 平台在订单完成后先抽成再给到商家 香港那里是外卖小哥去商家取餐时要自己先垫付餐费，之后再去配送 之后所有风险都是外卖小哥承担
在法国一些比较偏远的地方外卖员基本都是开车的，虽然app上都是显示自行车。有可能是由于一些道路设施不适合骑自行车。朱莉点的外卖包装都好环保，从里到外都是纸质包装。

所以现在大陆很多外卖会用密封装，能看出有没有被开过，福嫂那个钉子和死结大概就有这功能。当然，不是所有都会这样，大部分人都值得信任，很少有乱来的，但是只要遇到了就会很恶心吧。。。

我在维也纳送外卖，评论一小时能送3到4单，也就是基本上15-20分钟送达，一般很少会晚到。以前用汽车和摩托车，后来等红灯和绕道的时间浪费太多，就用电动自行车了，其实自行车还是很高效的，很多时候可以抄小路，而且有电助力，路程远的也不会累。不过现在给小费的人越来越少了，可能物价太高了，大家都想省点钱吧。
十年前在法兰克福机场的一家餐厅点过一杯啤酒非常好喝，不苦。当时英文也不好完全瞎点的，也不知道是不是调了别的酒进去。后来尝过很多不同国家的啤酒但是再也没喝过那么好喝的啤酒😢

没什么可比性，国内外卖已经成熟了，大树效应，单量密度形成规模，送达肯定快一点，不过你的餐是不是黑作坊出来的就不得而知了，国外的外卖通常没有单独做外卖的，基本都有堂食，吃起来完全放心

國內國外時間和價格沒法比。薪水收入不同。我在紐約叫外賣訂單到送到家才15分钟不到，小费$5元美金。超市也有送貨。免費的，我只付小費。Costco 也有网上訂購free shipping. 至于價格根本無法相比拿美金收入和國內人民幣收入有什麼可比的？! Lol 上海的消費不比紐約便宜，甚至更貴。海外朋友懂的😄
