I barely watched the video. Because I knew it was gonna look awesome. I just listened to the words about the mind creeping in and causing tension. I really look forward to the meditation video you spoke of. I am a union carpenter and this approach to drawing calms my mind 😎
Thanks for the feedback Dave... so pleased you are interested in the meditation side of things😎... The video will be my next Patreon step by step video. Looking forward to producing it for you all. 😊🙏
Hello: I am just fascinated by your method of painting such beautiful images! I am new to your channel and I t seems you use a gray pastelmat and do the initial underpainting mostly in white ...what is your reason for this instead of using white pastelmat insted? Sorry for asking this, but I am trying to understand...
Hi Leda, thanks for the question.... I use the grey to create certain texture by varying the pressure on the pencils. I always use grey as it make the colours pop. 🙏
UART Paper is not archival on the backside, so I would be careful with that one. There might be a good chance that these chemicals creep trough to the front side over time. Lachri made a good video about it. But if you like these really rough papers LuxArchival is a very good alternative and it's totally white as well. I think that's a bonus.
Hi Ria... sorry to here that... I see that you are still active on email... ending dsl.be . Not sure how to solve the login issue. Would you like me to copy and paste the email address in full here so you can check if it is correct? Or I can send you a message to see if you get it? 🙏
Hi Elzabeth... The first procedure is the under painting where my approach is as you mentioned... then the next stage is the rich colours where I focus on getting the values and chroma more correct... then the details and subties or fine tuning are the final stage. All three procedures are followed in each section I do as I go along. 😊🙏
Great Video!!! Awesome Tips!!!! Thank You!!!! 😮👍😎😃
Cheers! Thanks for your support Always! 🙏🙏

Thanks you, but please explain why you use white as the initial underpaint on gray surface...
Did you try UART sandpaper? I feel its better than pastelmat. I feel pastelmat doesnt allow many layers.
Not tried UART... will look into it, thanks for the info. 🙏

"In this underpainting, I'm not interested in getting the values right or the colours right..."
*Proceeds to get the values and colours exactly right*
