I married into a family that had a cottage in northern Wisconsin ...that was 1978! My new father in law taught me how to fish muskies and over the next few years he taught me everything he knew ...his cottage was on a 5 lake chain, Tiger Cat Flowage, all class A musky water and I learned how and where to catch muskies pretty constantly. But, one summer, the week of July 4th, I went fishing by myself, my father in law couldn't make it and he always told me I could use the cottage anytime as long as I left it as I found it, WHAT A DEAL!! I fished the lakes for a week, I caught 35 muskies in 7 days and 7 of those of fish were keeper sized...although I kept nothing, they all swam free! That was the first hot weather of that year with fronts moving through every couple of days ...that was the best musky fishing I ever experienced!
Congratulations on your catches. I would love for you to have longer videos. While you were driving, you could have discussed your plans to fish for Muskies, how hard they were to catch and everything you planned to try. The types of bait, etc.. Please keep on making such great videos.
Nick posts video as we are getting ready to have Thanksgiving dinner. Told wife give me a few minutes, security at the shop called and I need to call them back. I step out on back deck and about the 2nd musky I get an eerie feeling. Look behind me and wife is watching me through the window. All I see is her eyes roll and the shade close. Well I 2x through the rest of the video, went back inside and proceeded to give the best Thanksgiving family prayer ever. Thanked my wife at least 3 times, said how wonderful she is and promised this year the guys will clean up after dinner. Well the men in my family hate me now, but I don't live with them. An hour later after everything is cleaned up, wife gives me kiss on the cheek and says "Your lucky". She smiled and went back in living room to plan out Black Friday shopping strategies with her mom and daughters. This video is going to cost me, but anyhow Congrats Nick 🤘😎
Wow! That's a day of fishing you'll still be referring back to many years to come! Congrats, Nick, and thank you for making Thanksgiving day all that much more joyous!
Thank you, Nick, for all you do. Your passion for fishing is infectious and makes me want fish more. Work and business take up a lot of my time, but I can still get that thrill of the catch by watching your videos.
Cool story: I recently went fishing with my friend for the heck of it, we didn’t expect to catch anything. I ended up catching a 15+ pound Muskie that was three times the weight of my previous biggest fish 🪱🔚🐟
Those are 2 nice muskies. Some pointers , bigger net , heavier gear , strong fluorocarbon or steel leader. Also when weather cold , bigger baits are better. Muskies are an apex predator, cold weather means time to bulk up. They target larger prey so they gain more calories then they burn to bulk up faster. Keep up the good work , love your videos.
Happy thanks giving nick! I just last month caught my biggest Muskie and biggest fish ever. It was a 44 inch 22 pound tiger Muskie that I caught on a sucker from the bank. They fight super hard. Took 3 years to get my second one ever. Awesome video🔥
Great vids once again. Im a musky fisherman myself. Looks like a great spot. Spillways never disappoint. Always seems to hold big fish waiting for a free meal to wish through. We would love to c more musky videos. Cheers. 👍👍
I've never caught a Muskie, I did catch Northern Pike once in Indiana (when I was 7 years old - I am 42 now) but I still dream to go fishing up north again and land myself the fish of 10,000 casts... I watch all your videos and it is awesome you landed 2 in one day! Congratulations Sir!
Just a friendly fishing handling tip Nick from an avid muskie angler, keep them in the net in the water, limit the out of water time, dont hold them vertically, and dont use boga grips. All ways to help limit post-release mortality. Really great to see you targeting my favourite species.
Ate a huge, delicious Thanksgiving dinner & came home to a new 618! What could be better?! Happy Thanksgiving Nick! I'm thankful for you & your videos! 😎🤘
Hi Nick. Normally, If you want to catch the bigger fish you have to use deadbaits. We have much success with baits like Mackerel, Lamprey, sprats, Sardines here. Sardines in particular are some some serious muskie catchers. You can use a large single hook or medium sized treble hooks to rig them up but its recommended that you use a wire leader of at least 20lb as muskie have sharp teeth and will shred mono, braid and light/medium fluorocarbon lines. I know wire leaders arent popular there in the US unless youre doing some shark or barracuda fishing. If you go with the large single hook, you'll also be able to catch some catfish too.

If you ever make it down to Cave Run Lake in eastern KY, you should fish for musky…they have some monsters there.
I can verify this. Cave Run nearly kept me from graduating at MSU.
Absolutely beautiful fish.
