We install a new chip on the cartridge, and a new chip is provided in InkOwl refill kits for this model. We recommend installing a new chip on this model so that you can benefit from accurate display of the toner level.
Usually, with color cartridges like this, 2 times is an average. It depends on what level of quality you need. With continued use over thousands of pages, the drums on the cartridges will wear out causing faded prints or prints with defects. However, it's not the act of refilling that causes damage, so if you see that your prints were still acceptable before the cartridges became empty, then go ahead and refill it another time. It really all depends on what you're using the prints for.

No, it wasn't. I saw the instructions that came with the hole making tool as to where to drill the hole after I made the mistake. I drilled on the opposite side of the chip by mistake.

No, there's no relationship between the number of times you refill one cartridge and the wear and tear on the rest of the printer.

It's not perfectly clear where you put the hole to refill the toner. I created one that pierced the container and the new toner leaked out.
