There's a lot of good moments in this video, but I still think my favorite is that some guy actually rebuilt his team specifically to deal with a level 1 ratatta and demanded a rematch.

Say, for any Pokémon brainiacs out here, he said there was no speed tie between the opponent's Arceus and his Ditto-turned-into-Arceus, even tho they had the same debuff... What made the Ditto faster? I don't know their stats btw, I don't really play Pokémon, but I would like some deeper understanding of these big brain strategies.
@@Mike14264 Ditto is holding a choice scarf, which is an item that increases the holders speed by 50%, but it can also only use the first move it selects after switching in. This means that Ditto will usually go first. The reason it didn't go first when they were both dynamaxed is that dynamaxing temporarily disables the effects of the choice scarf, including the 50% speed boost. The opponent happened to win the speed tie that turn.

To be fair, he did actually have a point. He's just completely unaware that he needs to take his own advice about "making your opponent having a terrible time." Like, he starts the match by insulting his opponent's team composition and mocks them any time something good happens to them.

To those... Well, unaware, the ability Unaware prevented the BUFFS from affecting the attack, but NOT the attack's base power. Which is based on the number of buffs he had because it's Stored Power. So while the actual multipliers were ignored, it didn't ignore the full brunt of the attack. Probably obvious, but I thought I might point that out.
I've actually never been sure how unaware works, so this explanation is greatly appreciated.

@@Cloakp less cheats, more of a 'ruling' situation like in card games. Example would be, if you have 3 def ups, 2 att ups, and 3 speed ups, you would have 20 power, plus 20 power for each buff, for a total of 200 power. And THEN, the multiplier from any relevant stat increase raises it further. For Unaware, that's where the equation stops. You STILL have the 200 base power, it just doesn't get multiplied at all. (Not sure if you're just trolling or not, figured I'd break it down in case you were being serious.)

That's unfortunately how it is in every multiplayer game (which is why I'm playing less of them) someone will ALWAYS be a sore loser and say you are cheating no matter what and may even mass report you getting you banned by the automated system which doesn't actually have the capability of determining if a ban is justified it just sees a lot of reports filed and issues the ban which I just want to say you can say I'm cheating all you want you toxic assholes but getting me banned over it is TOO FAR incredibly not cool and I'd like to ask you FUCK OFF

tbf most of the kids in Temp's videos use full legendary teams with nothing but coverage one-shots, like they played through the main game and went "Wow, I'm so good at this game, I one-shot everything with my Primal Kyogre and Groudon!! No one can beat my strats!!" and then battled against 500 people in UBER tier doing the exact same thing and won a few like "ok, so this IS exactly how Pokemon is played, I'm pretty good!!"

I love these kinds of videos. Not to mention the Grade-A Zoroark slaps to make your foes just either rage like children or call out "Hax". I also really appreciate how you make some of them just feel like shit- and I mean the ones that claim to be godlike. Makes newcomers know there's a good chance of making a grand comeback when least expected.

The Zoroark stuff had me laughing. Seriously, people in this competetive level don't know about it. I'm a filthy casual and even I know Zoroark.

I intentionally caught it in the game were it got released because I think it looks cool
I'm not a tournament player, but I know a lot of pokemon's random movesets/skills and it's embarrassing how some of these competitive players know so little. The whole "What's that pokemon?" thing had me laughing hysterically.

actually- just to correct something that's been bothering me for over a year:
Z-Hypnosis CAN miss (along side other status moves that are powered up)
however, damaging Z-moves skip that accuracy check and therefore never miss

From my layman's perspective, it seems like it would be a _good_ thing that someone with a team full of "baby" pokemon can go toe-to-toe with teams of legendaries as long as he understands what his "babies" can do together (and has just a little sprinkling of luck). Wouldn't a game where it was basically accepted that "graduating" into the high tiers means building teams from the same small handful of god-mons as everyone else be _less_ interesting to play and master, not _more?_

My friend Zoroark doesn't get any STAB moves over like 95 power ever. And pure dark type is genuinely pretty awful. It has a good ability and some decent type coverage, but it is far from OP.
Just recognize when someone keeps his fighting Pokémon in a battle like Alakazam. It's obvious and can very easily be countered. But people don't think lol

It depends on what you think cheating is. Some of his builds won’t be possible in the regular games. Like certain Pokémon having specific natures that arnt available in canon games. But in showdown, you are free to edit natures, EVs and IVs and move sets to your pleasure.
So instead of using a GameShark to bring a nature from a gba into the current Pokémon gen game, you just click-click and people get mad cuz they are trained in normal strategy of the canon games, not showdown strategy

Saw Temp mention Photon Geyser ignores sturdy, prompted me to look it up and make sure I was remembering things correctly. Now I know that not only Moongeist Beam and Sunsteel Strike ignores abilities, but Photon Geyser does too lol

I've been binging these, and it's astounding to me the sheer volume of players who get swept MULTIPLE TIMES who insist unironically that THEY WON. they pick some mechanic of the game, say 'Well, that's stupid, so I won actually'.
Do you think they'll grow up, walk into a casino, blow all their money at roulette, then go to cash out saying 'Well, it was all RNG bullshit, so I won actually. Give me my payout.'

This was always one of my favorites. I love how he just can't accept that he lost, so he keeps making excuses. "You're cheating!" "You're using a CLEARLY OP Pokemon!" "You keep using cheap moves!" "No, now you're cheating again!" All I can hear in response is The Heavy from Team Fortress 2: "BWAAAHAHAHA! CRY SOME MORE!"

I like when they're all, "ur cheating to know my moves reee". Like bro, pokemon is a game based on preparing for a series of moves you know are "the meta TM" and then preparing to play AGAINST that. I like that for most of the sturdy strats people just have to have one multi strike move but instead fill their teams with legendaries and high damage one hit moves

I like that when they're somewhat nice, he breaks down what he did and why. I imagine battling against him (and not being a dick to him) you could learn a hell of a lot you didn't know.
I had a moment like that when, after using a Last Respects Houndstone team against someone, we spent like 10 minutes in post-battle chat talking about the strat and how it worked, and how I personally compensated for its weaknesses
Later on we met back up in a random battle and had a rematch, it genuinely felt like I was the champion, and the player was coming back after a defeat

It's got kind of the opposite effect on me because I keep running into all kinds of imposters that I say you have to post this when you lose and it's kind of giving me the equivalency of what happens when a Pokemon with moxie knocks out an opponent. I must be humbled

But I still remember when I was playing, and I never used legendaries because I hated them so much, and I just decided I would use Raichu on my team
Just randomly decided I’d use Raichu
The guy I was up against had three Pokemon, one of which was Zoroark and so when one of his Pokemon switched in to fight Raichu I thought “This could be Zoroark…and Raichu needs to heal, GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY” and I used Drain Kiss
One shot KO and the dude just messaged “Damn, you caught my strat, gg you win”
I was just so happy
So why can’t these people catch an obvious Zoroark play? If you see Zoroark on the enemy team…maybe, I don’t know, use a move that Zoroark would be vulnerable to
Alakazam can use Dazzling Gleam, 4x super effective on Kommo’o, so bruh moement really just didn’t seem to think that through
I'm guessing the player was someone new to pokemon, they mentioned they came to showdown after bdsp, a game that doesn't feature zoroark in any possible way. And probably doesn't know a lot about pokemon to begin with. im pretty certain the teams he used featured pokemon from the first four generations and none from gen 5, meaning he's likely an older fan who got out of touch at that point and came back in at the remake to a gen he was familiar with.
