This is the Horner's method of synthetic division.
Yes, also called trial method bcz the first root is by trial.
Put x= 1, -1, 2, -2, . . . and find one root. Then divide by that factor to get the remaining quadratic factor and solve it, to find the remaining 2 roots
Can't this method be used if there is no constant term..🤔
@@prb8227 yes it can be used , just put the missing term to be 0 , like in ax³+cx+d as the coefficient of x² is missing , you can put it to be 0 in the synthetic division method

How to get factors of x^3 -6x +4 =0
@@nikitakumawat6365 roots of this equation will be (x-2)(×^2-2×-2)=0
You will get x=2 by simply putting 2 in x^3-6x+4.
Further by solving equation x^2-2x-2=0,you will get 1+√3,1-√3.
You can solve this equation by comparing it with ax^2+bx+c.Therefore final roots will be 2,1+√3,1-√3

Madam this method is well known for most of Indian students, please provide a method that works for fractional roots too,I mean using intermediate value theorem and guessing to the nearest root.if you can do that in a less complicated manner,that would be appreciated.
