At the Fullerton Arboretum, we have a large mature specimen of Q. brasiliensis from seed from the Buenos Aires Botanic Garden. The bark does release saponins as the Q. saponaria. As a volunteer there, I have started to propagate this tree from seedlings coming up underneath the canopy.
