    I have an m.2 SSD and a GTX 1060 6GB VRAM and the game was experiencing heavy stuttering even on low settings. The stuttering completely went away when I switched from 2x4 GB RAM to 2x8 GB RAM and allowed the game to use as much of my VRAM as possible. My guess is that the game stutters a lot because my RAM was too low and the VRAM wasn't being fully utilized, so it kept using the disk's page file for the game which is why there is a huge amount of read/writes to the disk. The game stutters because its trying to wait for the disk read/writes to finish. It should be noted that read/writes on the page file are orders of magnitude slower compared to read/writes on the RAM (even if its an SSD, although that helps). Additionally, dual channeling your RAM also gives you a massive FPS boost. This game requires 16 GB of RAM at the minimum, so its better to use 2x8 GB RAM than 1x16 .

      @soulzyx  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the explaination. But I'm running the game on dual channel 16GB DDR4 3000mhz RAM. Any ideas? Only changing drives worked for me.

    • @soulzyx
      @soulzyx  5 месяцев назад +10

      Ok, so I did more "research", I think the game does "access" the Disk's page file in some form or capacity, because when I disabled my page file on Windows. I saw my writes go down by 90%, 3mb/s to 300kb/s and some things "loaded" in quicker, but it did not fix the stuttering (happens exactly in my video). The worst thing is, if the game A) isn't running out of Memory, I saw on RTTS it's using 11 GB of 16GB then why would it be paging? VRAM is also only 3GB of 6GB. The game just decides to do what it wants inefficiently, despite with the resources it has, that sounds like poor optimisation to me. Anyway, I don't recommend anyone to either disable or limit the page file size (if you run out of memory programs will crash), but seeing it not write at 2mb/s for hours actually made me feel a bit comfortable for puting it back on my SSD. Funnily enough, with your information I went and looked it up and I found the "suggestion" on PubG, another game that is garbagely programmed. I guess we really can't do anything about it.

      @@soulzyx yes I think the optimization could be better, this and 7 days to die (I don't know if you ever heard of that game) are both optimized poorly. I was using 2x8 GB DDR4 2667mhz RAM and I would get constant stutters. Now switched to a 2x16 GB DDR4 3200mhz RAM and it's much better even though both of my games are on HDD drives. It still occasionally stutters and I would miss time a dodge or parry but it's very rare. In fact the performance went up so much I beat the Impermanence Heron difficulty 5 with scuffed level 70 characters. I'm going to be upgrading my laptop's C disk soon (m2 SSD) so that I can put my games on this disk and eliminate stuttering as much as possible.

    To those, that have multiple SSDs, try putting it on the one that's your boot drive (where Windows is installed to).
    Just realised, correction: those are bytes, so it's 65-130MB, not GB 😅 My HDD has a Read/write of 150/144mbs
    My SSD has a read/write of 536/207mbs. I guess that's why the stutter isn't on my other drive. Also would like to say, that those with low system RAM (8GB), or low VRAM (4GB or less) might cause stutter that has nothing to do with the storage drive (since I ask people their specs, and I see those commonly have those). I didn't have either of these factors.

The next week I decided to buy SSD SATA SAMSUNG EVO 870 1TB, after it arrive i immediately test it, and sure enough i could confirm it that it does eliminate the stutter like 90% of it really a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE!. So far I was trying playing WuWa on lowest settings possible, including playing on smallest window size possible since, for whatever reason, it improved the game´s stability a bit to me. Nontheless, the stutters this game has is just mindcrushing.
    Tbf, I don´t have the best specs ever with a mere 1650, intel i5 and 8gb ram single channel (all with an ssd, but on a laptop), although I never had even the slightest problems on other games like Genshin Impact, Tower of Fantasy, Snowbreak Containment Zone or recently Solo Leveling Arise (last one being not that well optimized either, but at least very well playable nontheless). I did find out 1 or 2 things.
    Playing the game with dual channel ram is already a big thing. In my case, putting the game on windowed mode on the smallest size helped to make it more stable. What baffles me is the hudge difference between dungeons and open world. Inside a dungeon, the game easily holds 60 fps. Outside of it... no chance. I also don´t understand why the game, even on lowest settings possible, has to be this detailed. What I mean by that is especially the special effects on vegatation. When wind blows you can clearly see grass and trees moving. Walking through grass or fighting in it also triggers physics. All of this may cost way more power than putting shadows on (in fact in WuWa shadows load in like in no time at all). In older racing games to say the very least, you may be able to set higher grafic qualities in it, including shadows, and be completly fine. However, as soon as you enable vegetation effects the game can immediatly become stuttery, if not almost unplayable. This might also be a good reason, even more if you have a low ram size, why the game has a high disk usage at times.
    What I also found out in my experience so far was, that the game might stutter even further if your ping is unstable or high. Despite my PC being fully up to date, if also unstable ping comes in the game sutters even worse.
    I was thinking of upgrading my ram someday, but as soon as my pc can handle most tasks and other games I play I don´t see a reason to do so, especially when the sole reason is to being able to play some poorly optimized gacha game. Hopefully Kuro Games fixes these issues asap. It would be a big shame if WuWa would be already in a decline due to bad optimization.

    • @soulzyx

      There's a pinned comment in the video, if you want to relieve stuttering then RAM is going to help you, 16GB dual channel. Looks like when you don't have enough memory the game starts writing to page file which causes stutter since it's slower.
      For average FPS, if you're playing at windowed mode then it seems 1080p is too much for you. Check out this video, if you all you want is extra FPS: ruclips.net/video/kLPKNNRFcW0/видео.html&t
      Then once you understand how to edit your ini file, I would recommend the config from here: ruclips.net/video/n4XPY5fxLco/видео.html
      You should see 10-20 FPS increase, depends on the system if you were to use the potato config I posted

    Bro, I am taking a liking on this game buttt. I first downloaded it on my SSD. Then for storage issues i had to reinstall it on my hdd. Since then I am facing these stuttering. Funny part is my HDD is runing Genshin with near smoothness but WUWA is just so much laggy. Moving my character with sprint is makingvthe game completely stop for 1 or 2 seconds. If it was a early stage developing problem then I am afraid I need to again install it on SSD somehow.

    • @soulzyx
      @soulzyx  3 месяца назад

      It's because, the game writes to the page file, which is slower than memory. So a HDD is going to lag when it does that, a SSD is way faster you aren't going to notice when its doing that.
      How to stop it writing to the page file? You need more system memory, although Idk if it ever doesn't write to page file.
      The minimal requirements for Genshin Impact is 8GB, the minimal for WuWa is 16GB. MINIMUM btw, not recommended. So of course comparing one lagging to the other, is not gonna be the same, it's like a PS3 game vs a PS4 game. I would just put it back on your SSD, unless you absolutely can't, the game is only 25GB in size, that's tiny. Ofc if you can't, (I can't, but have it on HDD for other reasons), just gotta upgrade eventually 😅

    I don't have any stuttering issues at all (I installed it on my SSD), except if I open chrome with 30 tabs in the background. Sometimes the game crashes (one in twenty attempts) when I try to do simulations, or sometimes it doesn't load at all when I change places/fast travel. Also the worst problem of all for me, the subtitles were cut and I didn't have any way to scroll down to read it, and I abhored the Eng dub.

      @aria.e 5 месяцев назад

      @@saikamahmud3112 firstly you have to buy a hard drive called SSD, or the other type called nvme. Then you can install it on your pc, plug the cable into it like your regular hard drive, (except this nvme stuff you have to slot them on your mother board if your mother board support nvme drive) in this case, your "OS" drive. After you boot your pc you need to format the new drive first in order to make it usable. Then you can install games in it.

      Also the stutterring on game start up, still happens, but it's not as bad. It goes away in maybe 5 seconds. I'm sure it had to do with the anticheat and ACE, from a reddit thread I read, that was taking up resources, it looks liek they disabled something.

WuWa was installed on my HDD back then, but when I bought a Samsung 990 Pro just the other day and reinstalled WuWa on the SSD, the frame drops were gone. The frame drops I was experiencing (back when it was still installed on the HDD) was the initial loading of resources I would say. It drops on my first dash and first jump of the game, as well as moving around for a few seconds but after that, almost no more frame drops.

      The game writes 3mb/s a second, 180 mb/s a minute, 10.8GB an hour. Let's say you play 6 hours a day, that's 64.8 GB a day being written. In a month, that's 1.944 TB. In a year, 23.328 TB. Let's say your SSDs life cycle is between 60 and 150 TB in write. You'd still need 2.6 years of playing everyday non stop for degradation. Of course, assuming its a fresh SSD and it's not already half way through its lifetime. It's definitely an issue, and I don't wanna deal with that since i've already got 33 TB written to mine, but it's not really going to kill the average persons drive. The devs definitely need to do something about it, no where have I seen it being addressed.

Like Assassins creed Odyssey, Valhalla, Dragon Engine Yakuza and Judgment series and many more. My PC is 7 months old. Still new. My friend has a Omen i7 gaming laptop with a similar set up as my gaming desktop. Only difference is that he has a 16GB RAM and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060. Withering Waves runs like a beauty on his laptop and my desktop. The stuttering issue is on the Devs side. I heard that their optimization was not that great. Hopefully they can fix it in the future. For those who has a similar set up as me or my friend or a more powerful set up. Do not worry. The stuttering is not you. It's the developer's side that they have to fix.

    Hi, a WuWa player on HDD here
    After 1.1 update, the game is, how do I say this....
    *Getting worse* (at the same time, this issues start happening also after I update my Nvidia driver, so who knows)
    Before update, true that the game would lag and stutter, as if trying to "warm the system", because after a while, I actually able to play normally with decent performance (there's still some lags, but not as noticeable as first open)
    Now, after update, I actually open the game to continue my story, it's still run decently (still with first open thingy)
    However, after driver update, the game actually getting worse. To start, it takes almost 10 minutes (or 7 maybe?) verifying game file integrity (which actually at that time, the game also not responding, but according to task manager, my HDD is at 100% usage), and so on, before actually loggin in, goes into my Rover's hand, and another 5 to 7 minutes loading in. Loaded into the game, the usual stutter and lags first, but it's actually getting worse, because if "rendering process", if that make sense, is failed, there's a possibility the game having an audio delay, stuck on opening map, or even sounds lost after teleport. Not to mention the game taking so long to actually loading, because even when I'm entering loading screen, the game isn't actually loading yet, I can still hear my character idling in background. I still can have decent fun, when the game actually work, but most of the time, it doesn't. And TBH, I don't like when people keep praising the dev for keep giving apology rewards (I mean, I like rewards too), when the game isn't better yet, or even worse
    Again, this is probably because I'm on HDD, which probably isn't a good pair for RTX 3050, but well, I do have limited budget now, and there's other games that actually run better on my PC, say something like Ghost of Tsushima, GTA V, Forza Horizon 5, or even Genshin Impact (that before I delete that game for WuWa), and also HSR. Here I'm still waiting for devs to actually improve the game, but for how long, I wonder (note: game is also planned on PS4, which definitely still using HDD as base)

    • @soulzyx

      i get same stutter, but what you said about the game taking 7 mins to verify files, 1.1 actually fixed that for me. It takes 1-2 minutes now, they sped up that process for HDD's to skip it, the load times are still a bit slow otherwise, but before 1.1 I had to wait 5 or more minutes just to get to the Rover screen. It's much better now. Audio delay and stuttering after login is normal for me, it's when the game writes to the page file (I checked in Resource manager) when it runs out of memory, it's much lower and causes this issue. Only get this on my HDD though, probably because its much slower than my SSD

      @horizon_angel 5 месяцев назад

      @@soulzyx You know, it actually feels better not to actually deal with people who keep defending the game because they can run it better
      Anyway, maybe the 7 minutes verifying game files is probably my issues, but I'll see next week, since I'm out at the moment. All the worse problem about sounds not rendering and everything, at first I thought my system need restart, but TBH, even a fresh start from turned off didn't resolve the problem for me, sometimes it work, most of the times, it doesn't. So much so that even it takes a while, just to load the gacha banner. Oh, and yeah, when worked, the game run at around 50-59 fps-ish, barely 60 fps. Quite ironic for something like RTX 3050 (and I just re-read my comment back up there, I just fixes it. All the worse problem happens after I update Nvidia driver)

      @@Gyatt_game_69 Sorry, I don't really get it
      it's not a CPU limitation on the r5 5600, if you change out the GPU you will see higher framerate. a RTX 4060 cannot be compared to rx 6600, its faster than a rx 6600XT, rx 6600 is slower than a 3060 lol
      I think you might be referring to a game being CPU bound, which this one could be, im not saying otherwise, Assassin Creed Odyssey can also see something like 15-20 FPS difference when swapping out a faster CPU, even with paired with a GPU that *should* be fast enough with it.
      You didn't specify what framerates you're getting at what res, and I can't find any benchmarks for your specs, but anyway I will close my discussion with these notes:

      ruclips.net/video/4aI4vwqcJpQ/видео.html
      The FPS is less than the 4060, with a slightly weaker GPU, only diff is GPU, same CPU. The RAM config is different, its 3200 vs 3800, CL wasnt specified for the 3200, that could also benefit.
      Intel Core i5 14400F + 4060
      ruclips.net/video/3dzA1z41zsQ/видео.html
      The FPS is MUCH better, i5 14400F is faster than r5 5600. I will say the single core processing is probs a lot better. The other difference in that config I just sent, DDR5 RAM.
      If you really want to know if it will make the huge difference on a 6600, you can get a 5800x3d, but then your GPU will be the bottleneck. (you wont get 120 with that GPU even with CPU upgrade)
      No, there's not anything you can do about it, settings or tweak wise. Some games run better than others.
      ruclips.net/video/_D-a4T8umtc/видео.html

    My question is,Do my laptop specifications meet the requirements for playing this game?
    because when I play on low settings it still lags sometimes even though playing other games is fine

      where does it lag? And are you talking about low FPS?
      I would say your CPU is good, your GPU is probably just about fine.
      you can try my other FPS optimisation video, where you can lower the game graphics even more

    I don't believe it's a minority problem, as the only people who don't have problems with the game are streamers.

      People with "better" systems have less issues or less likely to run into them, yes. But if the lag was this bad for everyone, as I'm having, I genuinely don't think many people would stick around to play it.

    Im having serious issues with ping, it over 220ms sometimes it goes down to 170 but suddenly spikes to 500 and returns to 220. In no other game I have this issue (America server btw)

      Might not be ping, it just shows that because it's an "online" game. Look at your drive in Task Manager when the spike happens, also can check Resource manager, like in my video to see if its when the game accesses your drive
