Eonon 2187/8227L 10.1 Android 10 Headunit Issues/Factory Settings/Car play/Android Auto

- Short video on why I'm returning this head unit. These 8227L Units are pumped out by China under many Brands. Some box them better and have slightly better customer service but charge for it. Anyways I go over using wired Car play or how I got wired/wireless Android Auto working. For wireless you need to be a developer in the Android Auto app and start a head unit server, Headunit reloaded is well worth $5 compared to Eonons $50 dongle.
So I have two of these units different models both by Eonon. I started off buying the cheap $100 unit which I returned for a refund and to be clear, they are not the same thing at all. The cheap unit is really just the screen with a small logic board hosed in the plastic of the screen, those are the units that are sold everywhere in china and are rebranded and packaged and sold cheap online. The Eonon units are not those in fact that's what these clones are based off of. Now Eonon is a Chinese company but that shouldn't deter you from getting these units as these are sold and shipped via Eonon only and personally I am really enjoying mine. Any other device you get with a similar look that's not Eonon branded is a cheap android device with more than likely half of it's advertised specs. I downloaded and ran Aida64 on it and it reported 1gb of ram running on Android 7 when it was advertised in the eBay listing as having 2gb of ram and running windows 10. So be careful!

I ended up with a joying and I like it, also dasaita is supposed to be good, so their are good ones just have to do your research.
The companies have to work on their software and after sales service when they is issues

How are you change side buttons to red light ?
you have to go in the settings factory settings and there's a code to get into that, it's in the booklet that comes with the head unit. The point of the video was after I did that the buttons didn't work anymore.
I hooked the pink illumination wire to the orange truck harness and i still don't have button illumination
I have a 2002 s10 and the illumination works great.. i also hooked pink to orange

I just installed mines last week.... my problem with my unit is the buttons work they just dont light up at night.... i evan connected to the pink to my red wire with is when u turn key its suppose to start and nothing.

@@mehulsojitra1661 yeah but mine only gave you the option to choose color in the regular settings through factory settings it wouldn't let you turn it on all the time. Also I just got a joying head unit and it works fine. I got to tell you the Eonon was a bad experience
Can u tell me what's the joying head unit model so i can buy it?... Cause i'd use order a Eonon on Amazon for 170 dollar, but after i'd watch ypur video i decide to send it back and get a Joying head unit... Thanks in advance!

How long was it until youre buttons stopped working or was it just when you plugged in the illum wire ?? was it just a defect because i have same issue i forgot to wire illum wire but if its gonna break the buttons I dont wanna do it

Yeah it would remember stuff it had power. It was actually a defect. They head unit worked perfectly fine just the buttons would not light up, after I hooked up the illumination wire I had all the problems very weird. I bought a Joying 10.1-in head unit, besides an issue getting the screen to stick out the proper depth on my tundra I love it and it was just a little bit more money like 400 bucks just about.
