It seems that getting tear no longer is meta on Asol. It's pretty much always Rylai's into Liandri's now. Tear still is good if you want to get the shield from Archangel's of course, but it delays your damage a little.
It is so sad they took one of the most skill based champions on the game and turned him into a Q spam bot. The rework was necessary, yes, but what they did is just stupid.

its a waste of gold, you will almost and never run out of mana now. and its better to rush rylais.
Tear just isnt worth it anymore dont need mana and it slows your power spikes
