The day I woke up, went to work, turned on youtube to see what Kevin was up to and found out he had DIED was so shocking and sad. I still can't believe it. I’m a 30 year old black woman who went to an Ivy League university and I have a masters and law degree. All of the men I’ve ever dated were highly educated with high incomes. My current partner is college educated and has a very good income. I can assure you that highly educated men absolutely marry educated women, particularly if they are white men. All the doctors and lawyers I know married their intellectual counterparts. The thing that educated black women have to realize is that your education is only a bonus but it’s not enough. Being above average in looks, having a positive attitude, being emotionally stable and having an agreeable personality is what gets you a real winner. Your degree is only 1/4 of the requirements. If you are lacking in any of the other areas then you’re not a catch. Too many women on his show have below average looks and bad personalities and they use their degrees to validate themselves.

I’ve worked in healthcare for about 30 years and that BMI is based on Caucasian info and sizes, as African Americans we tend to carry more weight due to our bone structure. I have never agreed with the BMI A woman that’s 5’4” 135-145 is not overweight or obese. I don’t give a shit who says what.
As a therapist with an advanced degree, I know this to be true. Psychology attracts some strange birds. I encounter people who have savior complexes or seek to use thier expertise for nefarious purposes. Some get involved in psychology to seek insight for thier own mental/personal dysfunction or to become advocates/martyrs for some "cause." Some of my cohorts in my Masters program were disturbingly weird.
Maybe part of the reason there's a stigma surrounding therapy is because so many therapists are like this woman? Imagine needing help with a serious problem and this is the person you're paying to talk to...
Yeap, I was thinking about doing counseling. However it requires the mindset to analyze every situation from all possible angles and not be biased. Which is tough cause everyone can be biased. I do not think that everyone is cut out to be that actually be one. Just studying is not enough actually applying it is important and being flexible in all perceptions based on context.

I once had therapy due to brain damage, which i couldn't understand when i was 11, and like a zombie. The guy was asking me "do you have a s**life?", and i thought "a life full of s**?!" I left after a few sessions, and it had no effect (i wonder how come), and no he didn't touch me, the lil boy i was always spoke his mind, and i think he knew. Mommy knew everything her lil boy thought about. But other people i knew had decent therapists. So you'll have to search and report the ones not doing what they should. But yeah, this lady in the video is a bad example of therapists, too.

As a fitness major, I'll tell you, that's because they made healthy foods less affordable. Salad:10,99, Big Mac:2.99 💁🏾.. Even gym memberships are more expensive, then if you wanna go deeper, the steroiand hormones that many people use to get, and keep in shape are expensive. I think it’s the likes of Steve Harvey should be canceled and not Kevin. Just because he tells you what you don’t want to hear doesn’t make him a bad person. The perception of his negativity against women is that we have normalized unrealistic expectations, lack of accountability, toxic behavior, and quite a few others that we saw through his callers then and on Kendra G now. Oh yeah, remember that he had the same or more energy requiring men to do better too ("if you're a young man working less than 60hrs a week, you're lazy"). People conveniently forget or minimize that part.

I’m a 30 year old black woman who went to an Ivy League university and I have a masters and law degree. All of the men I’ve ever dated were highly educated with high incomes. My current partner is college educated and has a very good income. I can assure you that highly educated men absolutely marry educated women, particularly if they are white men. All the doctors and lawyers I know married their intellectual counterparts. The thing that educated black women have to realize is that your education is only a bonus but it’s not enough. Being above average in looks, having a positive attitude, being emotionally stable and having an agreeable personality is what gets you a real winner. Your degree is only 1/4 of the requirements. If you are lacking in any of the other areas then you’re not a catch. Too many women on his show have below average looks and bad personalities and they use their degrees to validate themselves.
Interesting. Most of the women i've dated and observed, who are more highly educated and higher earners than i am are also divorced from those men, once the kids head off to college.

As a therapist with an advanced degree, I know this to be true. Psychology attracts some strange birds. I encounter people who have savior complexes or seek to use thier expertise for nefarious purposes. Some get involved in psychology to seek insight for thier own mental/personal dysfunction or to become advocates/martyrs for some "cause." Some of my cohorts in my Masters program were disturbingly weird.

Yeap, I was thinking about doing counseling. However it requires the mindset to analyze every situation from all possible angles and not be biased. Which is tough cause everyone can be biased. I do not think that everyone is cut out to be that actually be one. Just studying is not enough actually applying it is important and being flexible in all perceptions based on context.

I once had therapy due to brain damage, which i couldn't understand when i was 11, and like a zombie.
The guy was asking me "do you have a s**life?", and i thought "a life full of s**?!"
I left after a few sessions, and it had no effect (i wonder how come), and no he didn't touch me, the lil boy i was always spoke his mind, and i think he knew. Mommy knew everything her lil boy thought about.
But other people i knew had decent therapists. So you'll have to search and report the ones not doing what they should.
But yeah, this lady in the video is a bad example of therapists, too.
