Getting a sponsored job might be difficult in current scenario. You can try getting a skilled worker visa and then check for outside IR35 contract roles.

there is lot of layoff even in skilled worker visa. Only if you get ILR - permanent residence can you stay and look for other jobs. I came in ICT in 2009 and then changed to Tier 2 dependent visa. We got ILR in 2016 and citizenship in 2018. I was recently laid off by my UK company after 12 years in May 2024. I have been applying jobs and there is absolutely no response. Job market is non existent which is the reality. You are more likely to find one if you have a niche skill set and up skill yourself which I am planning to do from Jan.

A single person earnings for a family are not enough in UK or Canada . These countries have high cost of living like in Singapore where the spending is like 90 to 95% and savings are negligible to low. Only if the wife also earns decently, a good amount of money can be saved.
