Stumbled across this film noir and so glad I did. Mickey Rooney always gives a flawless performance. He's one of the best Hollywood actor ever. "Drive a Crooked Road" is so entertaining. It's the kind of film you can watch more than once. Fantastic acting by all, especially by Dianne Foster and Mickey Rooney! Thank You Fatime Seferova for uploading this film noir. It's awesome!
One of my favorite lesser-known noirs, directed by the abundantly talented and still vastly under-appreciated Richard Quine, from a fine script by Blake Edwards. Quine had been an actor and was buddy of Mickey Rooney's, and you can even feel a certain sympatico between them here, which only strengthens the proceedings. Thanks for this quality upload of an overlooked chestnut.
Excellent comment and I agree, Director Quine had a talent for showing the "Human" side of Life. An example being "Strangers when we meet" filmed in 1960, "Drive a crooked road" is one of my favorite Rooney films, that and "Quicksand". "Drive a crooked road" is in my humble opinion was one of Mickey`s best film roles as it suited him so well. You could see and feel his pain that was so well conveyed by Mickey..........
@@lastmanonearth5580 Oh man, I love "Strangers When We Meet." "Quicksand" as well. Another great one is "Pushover" (1954) with Fred McMurray and Kim Novak. Quine was engaged to Kim Novak around that time. Some guys have all the luck;)
I believe that the race-track is out in the Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond and Mojave Desert Honda test track in Mojave Valley. Parts of Ford vs. Ferarri were filmed there too.
The movies of today are a joke. No acting skills .no James Cagney Humphrey Bogard Rhonda Fleming Olivia de Haviland, Erol Flynn Burt Lancaster Gary Cooper. Just remakes that are expensive and boring

Great movie and great 1st class melodrama acting by Mickey Rooney,
Mickey Rooney great nice actor like his films
Much like “Quicksand” with Jeanne Cagney made 4 years earlier. Both great little movies. Thanks! 👍
I also watched and liked "Quicksand"... twice! Great movie.

Noir films are the best. Short and to the point with all the great stars in their early days.
The point is Car Guys are Pod People.
Great film. Thank you.

Blake Edwards was a great writer.
Nice ❤❤ thank you.🎉
At least he's getting 15,000
Easy even yet to forget the woman!
He had Ava Gardner for a while
It looks like the carburetors are not four barrels they look like two barrel carburetors I guess they didn't have four-barrel Carburetors in 1940
I love the art of seduction that the lady laid on Mickey Rooney. Good film here!
That does not happen in real life. To men that are invisible to women.
Hollywood 71466 😉

No way in the world he could do 98 on a road like that esp with pizza cutter skins
Yeah, they took big liberties back in those days.
Wouldn't have been easier to buy a Ford with t w o 4 Barrel Corporation then have to remove one Flathead engine and put another one in it?
I don't like Mickey Rooney as a leading man unless he's 17
A young schnook gets played and nearly pays with his life.
Kiss tomorrow goodbye with James Cagney Ward Bond. A real thriller free on you tube.
46:50 When a mans brain is wrecked by a woman. Cant sleep, body wracked with anxiety.
👍

Worst ending ever
So corny. Today Police body cams would show them shouting " drop the gun"
long before approaching.
