    It depends on your particular situation. Not everyone has millions of $, not everyone has an international consulting business earning them millions of $, not everyone is 40 years old, not everyone want the nomadic life. For a senior citizen, not having civil unrest, possible war near your home, infrastructure to make life easier, cost of living, and weather might be more significant than tax.

    I wouldn't recommend coming to Canada, it has always been a frozen shithole and while doctor office visits may be covered by tax dollars, you have to wait months or years for any serious treatment and you can't live in the doctors office. The cost of living is way too high for how unbearably cold the conditions are for 60-80% of the year.

      The real question is why would anyone from NZ want to become an Australian citizen. Legally they have zero need to and have full rights thanks to the Trans-Tasman Agreement. This seems like a faster way for the govt to catch them in the AU tax net. The newer AU tax rules coming in soon will change the "are you tax resident" from the current 5 tests down to 3 (one of which is are you a citizen).

      you got argentina 2 year path for citizenship mercosul. Or if you register in a portugal city hall as EU citizen living in Portugal after 5 years you get a portuguese passport. That will put you in 1 year path for brazilian mercosul passport, 2 year path for mexican passport, will give you easier acess to Macau ( asia) and east timor (asia)and will also give you acess to the countries of africa with portuguese as official language ( this number will increase as gabon has just said is looking to join CPLP and more countries will follow soon) where a new mobity agreement is in force.

      Literally not a real passport. Its no more official than if you printed your own passport. Some countries consider it to be a "fantasy passport" and some will outright jail you if you try to use it.

      Dual citizenship is not encouraged (not allowed essentially) in a lot of Asian countries. The strongest passport is Japan, followed by South Korea & Singapore and Japan & Singapore aren’t allowed dual citizenship. You may have some luck with Philippines/Vietnam/Thailand if you invest in those countries.

    Will have to forgive me as this stuff is above my head and I'm definitely not nuanced on all the idiosyncrasies of the different currencies and economies and how they work but, if somebody could explain to me how if I was to give up my American citizenship and go to a country that has more favorable tax laws how I could still make good money considering that now I'm not eligible to earn an American dollars which I know is dropping but it's still the strongest currency or one of the strongest currencies. Can someone please explain to me how that is favorable? To earn in a currency that may be weaker than the dollar

      NC is geared towards high net worth individuals so it’s definitely more difficult for us average wage slaves. You can earn $ no matter your citizenship. As for relinquishing your US citizenship, ideally you’d secured a second one first. There are many countries that will allow you residency if you can show you have an income. Germany has a visa that lets you live there while you seek employment, others allow income from remote work. The info is available on government websites. Just pick a country and start researching.

    What you guys think about Netherlands passport? Is worth it?

    • @abeonthehill166
      @abeonthehill166 Год назад +3

      I suspect with the current WEF regime in power there that the Dutch Passport could follow the US and start to Tax the Citizenship and not the individuals abode.
      I think with the dest levels the EU is in now will mean these Gov’ts will be looking at ways to get cash out of those who spend 6 months and a few days in a lower Tax jurisdiction and the US way will likely be chosen.
      If you have a passive income from crypto or perhaps a $20,000+ pension , you should look at Asia or South America , choose where you feel happy to live 3-6 months of the Year and Uruguay and Chile ticks many of the box’s that the EU had 20 years ago.
      Do your planning and try it out by living there for a few months !
