I love your stile of teaching
Thank you Silva. Happy practising!
I have been practicing the Dounis exercises that you recommend.
I like them & can see how they are scientific, to the extent that there are exhaustive - and exhausting - combinations of fingerings.
I will say, however, that when I play down by the river in the sunshine , I receive more money by playing the melody in C major from the Accolay concerto or the Romanza from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, than any of the Dounis string- crossing exercises. Sad 😀 thanks though
Hi Doug, I am glad that you like Dounis method. Practising itself may not be most fun part, but it certainly gives us lots of tools to make beautiful music. I wish you much more fun with music making and happy New Year!

Thank you very much Dennis!
Why the bow slides like a biggner, but so nice?
She is holding the violin at a right angle for the camera.
The bow needs to move depending on the dynamics and phrasing. It is called Contact Point. For softer tone the bow should get closer to the fingerboard ( Contact Point closer to the fingerboard) and for stronger tone the bow should get closer to the bridge. When one is playing while changing the tone in dynamics and colours, one would move/slide the bow to change the Contact Point. And it is also true while I was getting closer to the camera while tilting the violin, the bow sometimes moved/slid more than I actually meant :)
Thank you Luc for your kind explanation! Happy Holidays and Blessed New Year to you and your loved ones!
