    As an owner of Rialto, I can confirm that this is an incredible system. You can't beat the price to performance to size ratio. Also, there is gapless playback. For example, when I play a track from an album, it transitions seamlessly. Once I start the first track, the firmware loads the song queue, enabling smooth, uninterrupted playback. To see this in action, if I play a track, skip to 10 seconds before the end, I'll notice the next track starts without any gap.
    That said, there are a few cases where gapless playback doesn’t occur:
    - If the ending or beginning of a track includes silence.
    - If I manually skip a track before it finishes, either by pressing "Next" or selecting a new track. This is common during demos at shows, where tracks are often stopped halfway through. This abrupt stop creates a moment of silence before the next track begins.

    Well, if this kind of speaker doesnt blow up your kilt. Try the Cabasse Murano standard style speaker. In addition to a stand mount, they have a small tower. Pretty amazing speakers with exceptional detail and dynamics without irritating brightness. It's a matter of quality vs quantity. Price is about the same as these but you do need and amp, and source etc. Steve Gadds drum work on 50 ways to leave your lover is amazing.

      I've seen your reviews of them. How do you think the Baltic 5 or Riga 2 compare to murano and alto? I'll have it paired with a relt7x for a small 12x12 room

    I was about to replace my system for these but the price was a bit too much so I just upgraded my power amp to a 500W Hypex. If at some point I am willing to splurge, Im very interested in the Cabasse Muranos

    How do these compare to the Buchardt A10? Similar price, similar concept.

    • @TASmagazine
      @TASmagazine  12 дней назад +1

      Buchardt seems to be about $600 more and slightly more complex but possibly more flexible. Direct from Denmark, so no dealers it would seem?

      @aliamiridc 12 дней назад

      @@TASmagazine Correct. Would you be able to reach out to Buchardt for a set to test and compare please? Would be perfect for your new segment on more affordable all in one solutions. I'm very interested in both the Buchardt A10 and the Rialto but never seen a review/comparison between the two.

    The lack of gapless playback would be a show-stopper for me. If you still have the speakers, try using Audirvana Studio and having Studio send gapless info to them. No matter how good they sound, they're in a tough market segment and strike me as a product that misses the mark.

      My hope is that this is an issue Cabasse is able to remedy with an OTA update.
      As you suggest, if one opts to use an external streamer - whether that's a computer or standalone - one would likely achieve gapless playback.

    Thank you for the review!!!!Amazing speakers!!!My only concern about these speakers is the too many electronics inside and if they will last in time and in the case of potential voltage drop.

    If it’s not gapless; it’s a deal breaker.

    In this day and age having no gapless playback is just a big no no…too bad

    I do not like the controls on the top of the speaker . it takes away the use of them on a desk for a computer or small sound system .if you cant see the top of the speaker , it defeats the porpoise of the screen on the top. cabasse makes some really good stuff ,I am sure they sound great, just not that user friendly

    • @TASmagazine
      @TASmagazine  16 дней назад

      Indeed. You could (on a desktop) run them from the remote, just as you do from the listening position. Still, if the top controls were a removable remote ($), that might work better for everyone. The top-mounted controls were clearly envisioned for easy access when standing (e.g. at a party).

    Bad video editing. Too many times back of the speaker over and over again. Boring.
