  • A really bad symptom of DPDR is feeling no emotion. Perhaps the joy and happiness has gone from your life, so has the sadness or anger. You simply feel nothing.
☀️ Recover from DPDR and anxiety with The Freedom Course - a revolutionary new online video and interactive course specifically designed for DPDR and anxiety recovery! Imagine a life where you feel connected, calm, stronger and symptom free! ☀️ FIND OUT MORE HERE: www.thefreedomcourse.net

This is a channel for people who suffer from dissociation (depersonalization and derelization - DPDR). If you have depersonalization or derealization there is a way to get out of it and get your life back. DPDR is a form of anxiety that makes you feel like you're looking at yourself from the outside (depersonalization) or you experience life 'like looking through a fishbowl' (derealization), or both (DPDR). Essentially you feel disconnected from yourself and everything around you, for hours or even weeks and months at a time.
It can be extremely scary and exhausting and often it feels like there is no way out which causes a lot of anxiety. However, there is a way out and it's absolutely possible to live a normal and connected life, permanently.
If you'd like to know more about your depersonalization and derelization and how to overcome it, please book a free discovery call with me. Together we'll go into why you dissociate, the path to recovery, how to finally overcome it and how to stop it coming back.

It is so hard to live like this. Being emotionally empty, not being able to feel love and give love, not caring about things, being in a survival mode. All I want was to have a happy life, where I can love, nurture, care for people, but with this emptiness, it has become very hard, to even do day to day activity. Sometimes, I fear, whether i will be able to get out of this and just want to give up. But can't loose hope, will fight and get better.
And to everyone out there struggling, keep going. You can do this.

Don't give up, you'll get better I promise. Just pray, and continue with your days a usual. One trick I found was using the "not caring" feeling to your advantage, just simply don't care that your feeling that way, I know it sounds crazy but you'll get the hang of it.

this is what im going through right now and im not faking it like some people do, im currently 13 started feeling depressed since i was born, because of my parents and the people ive met that betrayed me virtually, since i enver had friends in real life, and when i reached the age of 13 i lost all emotions i cant believe it I dont feel anything anymore its just as u said "all i wanted was to have a happy life" I dont care about anyone anymore too. Anyways i dont know what to do im just lost. Ill probably just be empty for a while i dont know how to fix this.

The Lord. The Lord is our reason to live. He put us here for a reason, and he longs for our call. I know it may not always seem like he cares, but I promise you this. Not a single sparrow falls to the ground without his notice. He is omnipresent and eternal, and he hears your cries. The same God who went as far as to come down to earth as a human and serve us, saving us time and time again from the rebellion we choose and destruction we entangle ourselves in, will not give up on you now. Turn to him. You don't need an elaborate display or smooth words, come as you are, and come in faith and humility. As long as what you say is for him, and you stay faithful in the process, he will listen to you, and he will answer when the time is right. The Lord is our hope, friend. and as long as we have him, hope will never be gone.

Everything is starting to feel pointless because I feel nothing. I'm in my first year of uni atm and I haven't opened one book yet, because I don't see the point in graduating and pursuing a good career if I won't be able to feel anything. The fact that I'm already struggling with serious concentration struggles isn't helping either. It's so scary for me atm. I can't feel love and I'm scared that I will never be able to feel anything again, because this is normal now. I'm used to feeling nothing and I can't remember what it's like to have emotions.

I'm very dissociative and have definitely experienced derealisation at times, but never understood depersonalisation. I think though I might've been in that state for the last 10+ years. I've recently started feeling emotions extremely vividly, I could always know what emotion I was feeling but would have to choose to express them and they never felt intense, even in extreme contexts. But lately it feels like it's coursing through my veins and filling my entire brain. Horror movies are making my heart race, defeat and failure is feeling frustrating, I'm feeling bored and getting angry at things, people are getting on my nerves at work, I'm even feeling anxiety, shame and embarrassment (at appropriate times). I don't like it and I want to go back. I wasn't experiencing anything strongly, but I was content. Im still in control of my thoughts and actions, but I don't think ive felt this out of control of how I feel things since I was a kid. Is this how everyone feels? Do people really have emotions rush over them like waves every corner they turn? It sucks. It's been barely a week and I hate it

@@Dave.mcclinton Back then it was more that I was unable to feel happiness, feel laughs, and it felt like my mind had no words or interest in talking or engaging in conversations. I also couldn’t break down if I wanted to, no crying no nothing. I was able to feel sad tho, able to recognize that I was depressed. I also was feeling anxiety and panic attacks sometimes. Now currently in 2022 I feel numb to everything. Can’t feel hugs, laughs, good times, no anxiety, can’t even feel when I’m drinking, no buzzing affects, can’t feel when I’m tired, can’t feel any positive feelings with my girl either. When I felt that way tho, the gym and being distracted with people helped out a lot. Even when I felt nothing at all while working out, and socializing, it slowly started to help, but I had to be consistent and worked out with a friend if I could.

I thought my lack of emotion was a result of being on quetiapine and valproate, but I came off them both a couple of months ago and still feeling nothing. I'm empty, no joy, no sadness no anger. When I am around others I act normal, smile, but it's not heartfelt

No matter what I do it's just numbness all the time, nothing helps or gets around it or anything. I can't remember what it was like to enjoy things or to feel emotion, or if I even ever have felt it. I've tried to master surpressing or repressing my emotions with a reasonable level of success. At a funeral I attended recently I managed to modulate my emotions so that I actually felt nothing. I find that emotions and feelings are an added complication in life I don't need (or want). I've been like this since 2011 when my wife died....its been my way of dealing with my loss. The thing is, its hard to know why you are having emtoinal numbness. Emotional numbness is the by product of soemthing that triggered it, thus its different for everyone. What worked for someone might not work for you. Adding another layer is that everybody's brain is different not only thye may react differently to solutions but mught have other factors that make it work different for example having ocd in addition to what they are feeling. Then yiu have the professional is he she rhe right person for you does he she have experience especially whith wbta you're dealing with. So many fucking factors and overlapping circumstances that makes peole be trapped in tbeir state for so long. Cherry on top it requires money and these type of disorder aftects your work performance and in many cases makes makinf than money impossible.

It may seem like it would be nice to not feel anything because then there arent really negative feelings but after years it also makes it, at least for me, nearly impossible to feel anything positive either. I feel like there's no one actually there in my brain. Im just a body that is existing. I mean what is the point in life if we can never experience true joy or happiness. There is nothing to fight for or want. Maybe if you could turn it on or off like at work feel detached that would be beneficial but I think that's where it starts and then after a while all that exists is numbness and emptiness.
