I Had an Episode and Didn't Recognise Our Cat

  • hi everyone🤎a bit of a spontaneous video today. this was filmed on saturday the 11th of november. at first i set up the camera myself, as i thought a tonic-clonic seizure might be coming and i often want to see them afterwards to know what my body did. but the tonic-clonic i was expecting never happened and instead it was a very odd episode, so mum filmed the rest for me to see as afterwards i don't remember everything. these aren't new for me, i've had hundreds but every episode similar to this is slightly different, and because Lottie was on my knee, a lot of this episode revolved around her🐈‍⬛
why i am choosing to share this:
i have said before that encephalitis can cause a change in character/personality and people have asked me what i meant. i thought this video shows it perfectly. anyone that knows me knows that Lottie and I are peas in a pod, she is always with me and searching for me. i love her so much and so watching me like this and even getting annoyed at her is very strange and was quite hard for me to watch back. (and it obviously started to hit me at the end!)
even my voice is not like mine, the way i stroke Lottie, is all very different to my usual self. not many have heard of encephalitis so as always i show things that are rarely seen or talked about in hope of raising awareness as well as talking you through the episode with me so people can learn🤎🫶🏻
ANNOUNCEMENT: this was very highly requested and now that a medical plan is in place, we have started a gofundme. I will leave the link here: www.gofundme.c... if anyone would like to donate but please don't feel you have to, simply watching and engaging with my content is also a big help. HUGE thank you to those who already have, my first ever infusion has already been covered (WOW) and i can now get a new wheelchair. i am feeling extremely loved and lucky🥰✨🫶🏻
    thank you xx
if you're new here i have a condition called Autoimmune Basal Ganglia Encephalitis. this means inflammation of the brain, which causes me to have these episodes. with treatment, they go away🤍🧠

I never realized how long seizures can last. Iv had two major seizures in my lifetime and many many petite mal where I just kinda look zoned out. This was very different from my experience and I can only imagine being confused and "faded" for such a long moment in time. Let alone forgetting yourself or others around you. You have a wonderful support system! And your mother is right! Everyone likes you and you are very loveable! I wish you only the very best and if I happen upon some extra cash I'll try to remind myself to come donate to your cause! It's hard living like this!

Recently, I had been really scared of falling asleep because I was scared something bad was going to happen to me, and my cat slept next to me the whole night as if he was protecting me. Recently been having neurological symptoms that came on very fast and I had bouts of confusion not knowing where I was, recognizing my friend and it's like I didn't know myself. The emotions were so strong of being scared, confused and upset knowing it's not always like this especially when it first comes on. Thank you for sharing this

I watched this yesterday when you first uploaded it and sobbed from when you said sorry to Lottie. No idea why I watched it again but here I am sobbing again. Maybe because there's parts of this I can really relate to when my mental health was very bad. I am so sorry you go through all this. Thankyou very much for uploading this I can only imagine how hard it was especially having to upload it twice! Sending you love as always. Shout out to Sam for guiding you through this she is very comforting even through a screen! 💗💞💓💝

Your mum is always so loving, and reasuring you are fortunate to have her.
Can se where your love and kidness comes from, even in a seizure you are upset at maybe hurting your cats feelings.
I'm so glad you've set up the gofundme. Proud of you.
    You deserve health.

I had an episode just like this last night it started in a restaurant because I was out to eat with my Mimi and her sisters I started to feel odd and then I went into a seizure when I came out of it I didn’t recognize any of them and was trying to get away they where trying to help me with my stuff to take it out to my Mimi’s car and I thought they where trying to steal it these can be so scary. My doctors don’t believe I have pandas and we kept bringing it up to them but they kept saying no and I have been going through the same thing for a little over 8 year and I’m and out of hospitals we are now going to see an autoimmune doctor to see her opinion on it💚

Man, that was one of the harder ones to watch for some reason. I've got kids and I got so emotional when you didn't recognize your mom. And I started crying when you were apologizing to your cat 😭❤.

I say this as respectfully and empathetically as I can. This is absolutely heart breaking to watch. Your distress and you're mom keeping you oriented as best she can. These videos are SO important for people to see! You're such an incredible and intelligent woman and still struggle with disability. I'm AuDHD myself and have been a disability advocate for YEARS (worked in the field for many years in various capacities) and I wish more people saw how much these things impact a person's life. Around the time my dad got his liver transplant (it'll be 10 years ago on January 4) he experienced a lot of confusion. These experiences are so difficult to go through and too few people can empathize with it. Thank you for your vulnerability in sharing such an intimate episode. I hope it gets enough attention that you're able to cover costs for treatment.

I started tearing up at the end of the video, cause I can so relate to being in similar situations during PANS flares. Man, Evie, thank you for being so brave in sharing and helping raise awareness. People just don’t understand without going through it and sometimes they have to see it to be able to empathize. You are one brave girl! Praying for your treatment to go well and heal you! ❤

spent most of my life having seizures. from teen to adult. i know this feeling all to good. very scary and confusing. never had the guts to show the world what it is really like. you or very strong lady. and thank you for this videos. stay strong and never give up. my warning signs where my left leg. it would twitch and feel like i need to stand up and pop my joint. or my eyes would twitch giving me that odd vision and itchy feeling before going into a seizure. that was if i got a warning. slurring voice talking confusing. i would not know unless someone told me. i no longer have them or at least i have not had one in a bit over 10 years now. was in a coma after a car crash for a year. was hit by a drunk driver. woke up and i only had 8 seizure since then. yes all we keep track of them. crazy tho. how a car crash stopped mine. my seizures started back when i was 12 from a head trauma. they did not know if it came from me fighting in tournament's or from falling out a tree and landing on my head. swollen brain. but then again hospital technology has changed a lot since then.

    I'm reading from what I see -
Tics takes a lot of energy physically & mentally & it takes its toll on the body & mind. There's not enough energy to power her brain properly & Evie is so sick & tired of it , I can read it in her eyes. Her mum is a legend, love to Evie & her mum❤
The more I watch, the more I'm picking up on her loss of senses, her body feels like a slightly misty, sluggish humming vibrato, I can picture her brain warping in & out of consciousness
I'm feeling a lot of love for Evie & I'm glad that she isn't suffering while being alone, somebody is always there to catch her❤
Seeing other videos of her smiling & laughing, enjoying life, & I like when she giggles, watching this video seeing her soul & body has temporarily misaligned, just makes me wish that I could offer anything I can to spread awareness, & shut up these doubters who leave negative & naive comments & who lack cognitive thinking skills.
