Ice my little white barn owlet's coming on leaps and bounds ... Full of character here at nine weeks old ... First flight .. Didn't expect to capture this :)
He looks like an angel with those white wings. This species is a real character. Sometimes they look li,e an old man jutting his chin out. Sometimes the front view of their facial disk with eyes and beak resemble a halved Apple with the core peering through! But they are reliably cute. I love the way they're more animated with the had Bobbi g and body twisting to give the appearance of dancing.
Hi Maria Luz, Sorry for the delay in answering, Ice is not albino but a true white barn owl.The white barn owl is rare in the UK. I Bred him from parents who are slightly more beige in colour than from the traditional beige and browns of the common barn owl. When a white barn owl is born to white or white gene carriers parents, the males if born white, (as Ice had two siblings born much darker) are born quite white with a faint pattern of the barn owl markings on their wings, the female white barn owls are born much more beige in colour on their wings, Ice's mother is beige and the dad is what is known as a Gene carrier, he is much darker in between a carrier and a common, I guess I have been fortunate. Ice has a fabulous character. Thankyou, I hope I have explained this clear enough to answer your question.
Awww! is there an update on the little beauties? My dad got us barn owls when I was little, They lived together in a huge gazebo out back. n nature, white is a hard color to camoflague, either they get caught or eaten. Do you still have these beauties?I'd love an update. I'd like to apprentice to become a falconer in the future, just so I CAN have another barn owl or two.Breathtakingly beautiful, both of them. I do hope they became friends. I realize this video is 6 years old by now. I hope all is well. ✨🕊✨

I kept telling myself I'd use my channel more, and I just didn't do it. Sometimes I think nothing is ever perfect enough to film and post, and recently I've been finding videos, that are so precious to me, people interested in the same things and it's so good to watch. Thank you for answering. I wish ICE and his new family all the blessings of health and happy chicks in the world! DO you think any of the chicks will pop out ICE WHITE like Dad? He's so beautiful! When my dad got ours, our male was bigger and older, our female was pretty young. She was tiny. Oh my dad would just MELT if he saw these videos. Yes ice is about to become a dad again, he actually partnered with Angel but she passed away at almost eight years january 2023
Ice and Angel were bonded for about six years
