    I personally will watch whatever you decide to film- sorting, multiple videos per section, everything. The most important thing is for you to have fun while doing the puzzle- this is a hobby after all and we all love it- sorting and long hours and all.

    I've really enjoyed your journey with this puzzle. From the unboxing to this timelapse. Love the time and energy you've put in with the voice overs and the little stories about the paintings and artists.
    That being said, I don't mind multiple videos of a section from the Educa puzzle or longer videos. Just do what feels right for you. I know I will enjoy it either way. Greetings from The Netherlands

      Hi!!! So pleased you enjoyed the series. I can't wait to get it up on the wall in its full glory! I'm also really excited but also nervous to start the Educa one - so many more pieces per bag. It'll be great fun though in the end and I can't wait to learn more about the monuments and landmarks. 💜🧩

    Watching sorting can be fun (agree on the gradients looking so pretty when sorted!)
    I'll watch whatever you produce, you have top-notch quality content every time!
    Also, I agree on the mixing bags: there are dangers involved w/dupe pieces and also...I mean, the sheer MAGNITUDE of it is terrifying to me. I saw a video here on youtube one time of a mom and her son who had a giant puzzle (multi bag). It showed them opening the bags and mixing them into a giant plastic tub. I wish I could remember the channel because I just can't fathom how anyone could ever complete a puzzle like that!

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  Год назад +1

      I have seen that video of them mixing the bags in a big plastic tub. I honestly don't think they ever finished it. I haven't been able to find any updates. Magnitude is the perfect word - it would just be so overwhelming! 💜🧩

    Loved watching this being put together all over again. To answer your questions, when I puzzle, sorting is my least favorite activity which is why I love watching it sped up in videos! And for the new big Educa puzzle you could release two or three videos for each section just so there’s no pressure to rush the building process.

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles

      I do also love watching the sorting sped up on video...especially if it creates a rainbow effect! Thanks for answering my questions. I really appreciate the feedback. 💜🧩

    Hi Donnalouise, I don't need to see the sorting process on video but I do appreciate it when the sorting strategy is discussed. My preference is when this is done with a picture of the puzzle where each sorted section is highlighted during the description of the strategy.
    Although I prefer one big video per section, doing 2 or 3 videos per section would be much more manageable but the completist in me will probably want to wait until all the videos for a section are out before watching them if you decide to go with this option.
    Cheers!

      I actually had someone comment that they waited until I finished all the section for Travel Around Art before watching any of the videos - I don't think that was you...? So I understand the desire to watch a completed video. I wish I had a better I idea of how long it would take me to do each section. I guess I'll soon find out! 💜🧩

    • @fellowpuzzler
      @fellowpuzzler Год назад +1

      @@fortheloveofpuzzles That was definitely not me. Watching 30 videos in a row would be quite a marathon. The format you had for the Travel Around Art puzzle worked really well as each section is somewhat self-contained.
      BTW, I'm with you on not mixing bags for the same reasons you provided. I remember seeing a video on YT where all the bags of the 42k Educa puzzle were mixed together and then the person trying to build it on the living room floor with toddlers running around. I'm pretty sure that puzzle never got built...

    It was so fun to watch the entire puzzle coming together. I think puzzling should be fun, and mixing bags kills the fun a bit, not too mention: less vidoes and longer time before you see the compete picture. I don't mind only a partial sort on vids, it's part of the process. Not always needed, and not always all of it. I like vids ca 15-30 min up to an hour, so feel free to split one section into as many videos as you want. I'll watch them all. Love what you're doing

    Not a fan of sorting but I don’t mind watching some of it just as long as you are talking through it. I definitely would not mind longer videos. My husband does RUclips so I know how much work it is, but I would much rather watch a longer video than scrolling through a bunch of short ones. I would much more enjoy you completing a section in one puzzle, but honestly I’ll watch either way so you do what’s good for you. Keep up the great work!

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles

      Another reason why splitting up into sections - like only recording for say 15 hours at a time - is that it's easier to handle the quantity of data and files. Still not sure what I will do. Definitely will be voiceovers and if I include sorting, will talk over it. Sometimes I adjust how quickly the sorting is played base don how much voiceover I have. Can I ask what your husband's channel is called? 💜🧩

    Inspired by your videos, I‘ve recently built the same ancient-map puzzle than you have on your wall, for me, it has also been the first puzzle of this size (I‘ve done some 3000 piece puzzles before). I haven‘t known about the reuse of the cut, but found it out very early while building the big title letters on the top. I‘ve had a misfit which was quite obvious as it cut of a bit of one letter. In fact, I‘ve realised that they have used the same cut not twice as you said, but four times. The piece shape is repeated on the length every 42 pieces (if I remember it correctly) and than flipped on the lower part of the puzzle. I have built the edge at the end and sorted the pieces by shape. I‘ve got piles with four of the same edge piece, which than I carefully put together to avoid misfits. Like you I can get a bit of a perfectionist about such things.

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  Год назад +1

      I didn't even realise that the cue was repeated that often. Did you do the 5000 piece Ravensburger Antique World Map? Oh what...I'm sure then if we looked closely at mine, I probably have pieces not in the correct spot. It's a beautiful puzzle though. I love maps! 💜🧩

    • @andreadu452
      @andreadu452 Год назад +2

      Yes, It‘s the same puzzle from Ravensburger. You can check if you look for a piece, count 42 spots to rhe right or left and you should find the same piece shape. But in the middle part it‘s not a problem as there is a lot going on in the picture, so you won‘t have any misfits there.

    Sim, Donnalouise, eu gosto de ver a parte de separar as peças. Mas, não quero ser egoísta, sugiro que você não faça a gravação dessa parte, pois será mais agradável para você. Gostaria que cada parte fosse dividido em 2 ou 3 partes, para durar mais dias!!! É sempre muito bom rever essa jornada. Tenho certeza que as próximas serão igualmente inesquecíveis! the grafika's missing pieces policy is completely insane, I've never seen anything like it. as far as I know, several companies send forms inside the boxes to indicate which piece you need and, even here in brazil, grow and toyster (our big puzzle manufacturers), if any part is missing, they send you exactly what you need. considering that normally giant puzzles are made up of several smaller puzzles (so it's risky to mix bags) it's kind of logical to just indicate the location of the piece by counting columns and rows and send it to the factory.

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles

      You make a good point about mixing the bags - especially if you were missing some beige background pieces, may be tricky to know exactly from what bag they are actually missing. 💜🧩

    I'm not too bothered if you wish to show your sorting process but I don't think it is essential. You can always say how you plan to do the jigsaw, this area first, then this one etc. As Meried has suggested do several videos for each section that you do otherwise it could get rather long. Shorter videos over a longer period of time would suit me fine. I very rarely sort my jigsaw puzzles, only for gradients. When I do a jigsaw I put all the pieces on trays, I then do the outside unless it is all one colour or difficult pattern and just get on with the jigsaw. 🧩🧩 I'm not into speed puzzling so how quickly or slowly I get a puzzle done is not important. With these big jigsaws I would never think about mixing bags as it would double or triple the time taken to do the section regardless of what the image is. Look forward to the next video whatever and whenever that may be and I always enjoy the commentary. 😊😊

    I enjoyed seeing this big puzzle put together all over again in one video. 🥰🖼️🧩
    I actually also like to see a sped up sorting in each video before you build the puzzle. It's mainly because it's so satisfying and also educational seeing how you sort all of the pieces in each video. So I prefer it. However I understand if you sometimes want to sit on your couch and watch Netflix while sorting the pieces in your own comfy private time. It's understandable 😅
    To answer your next question, I actually really like videos that are more than 20 minutes long, so I don't mind at all if some of your videos are more and 30 minutes. But what I understood about the new upcoming jigsaw puzzle, I wouldn't mind at all if you split each bags into two or three videos because 6000 thousand pieces is quite a lot in one go.
    I'm looking forward to see you start the big puzzle from Educa 😊🧩🖼️

      I will admit that I try to keep my videos between 15-20 minutes just as I feel that's the sweet spot for most (not all) but most viewers. Some of my videos are longer and others are shorter though. I'm getting lots of feedback which I love. I appreciate everyone's input. 💜🧩
