Hassan Mohamed i think the meaning is different if you take both lines into account.
first line ends with "karuna kola" and second starts with "karunaai-ah paatale".
Basically its a contrast between the kindness of mercy killing versus the ruthlessness that he personifies even when he is kindly LOOKING at the victim.
