Ru is great; many believe his sarcasm and witty dry humour as being rude or dismissive but it's the opposite. He's secure in what he does, he knows he's made a career out of drag and knows his worth. Whenever you see Ru being slightly dismissive towards questions regarding only drag it's because he's more than just that, he embraces his business-man skills and his keen eye for uniquness nerve and talent, he's both an entrepreneur and performer, and knows he's damn good at it. Whatever you say, Ru is an incredible influence on many through his belief in himself and there's nothing anyone can say to change my mind on him being absolutely sickening!
I agree and the way he interviews his guest on his talk show is nothing but class and integrity RuPaul is a true inspiration
I've heard from other queens how hard is to have double lives, feeling like they vanish between their own desires and their, characters. That must be tough.
@@DesireeDuarteVera Exactly. There's the queen and then there's the person. If you're referred to nothing but the queen, you devalue who you are as a person who has emotions and is individualistic. Being nothing but the queen means you always have to be at the top, every bit is scrutinised and you're nothing but judged by how good you look. Ru is the perfect example, once out of drag it's a sigh of relief that he puts away this personality that has to be nothing but perfect, which leads him to wanting to be recognised as both drag and RuPaul the man.
He's also an old gay man and the gays can be some of the sharpest, wittiest, shadiest people alive.

I find it to be intelligent because I feel that there's thinking empathizing with the drag queen who is after all a performer. I feel that all performers have this bit of a divide. I am a performer I'm an actress I am a singer that is in me. I can't turn that part off. A long time ago I just kind of shook hands with which parts of me go to the stage and embody and represent another person and what parts of me share myself. And now I'm very very comfortable with it. Because basically as an actress or performer we put on the 'coat" so to speak and wear it as the character. We are not the coat. RuPaul understands that and he embraces it. I see him doing things in say, Todrick's videos that's excellent. He's a performer and he enjoys it.

My mom lived in the NY in the 80s and has the best stories memories of Pyramid club, she passed away and hearing Ru remember Pyramid so fondly and calling it magical is like hearing my mom again they lived something really special.

When I look at RuPaul and RPDR, the word that keeps popping up in my head for him and all his fine queens is "courage."
How the hell did you get through childhood, adolescence, young-adulthood? How many times did you get beaten up, taunted, threatened, thrown out of whatever place you thought might be home?
How often did you beat yourself up, envy the dead, walk to the middle of a very high bridge and look down with despair, then turn and walk back down?
Ru, you and your family of Queens are awesome and inspiring to so many of us who've struggled with life. PLEASE keep on keeping on.
