  • Experience Ojude Oba, an ancient festival cherished by the Yoruba people of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State, Southwestern Nigeria. Held annually on the third day after Eid al-Kabir (Ileya), this festival honors the Awujale of Ijebuland, the Royal Majesty, with profound homage and respect. It stands as one of the most spiritually significant and dazzling celebrations in Ijebuland and across Ogun State.
During Ojude Oba, cultural age groups known as regberegbe, consisting of local indigenes, their friends, and associates from far and wide, parade in the king's palace forecourt. Originally revived by Oba Adetona in the 18th century to foster community development and progress, these age groups have since become an integral part of the annual Ojude Oba festivities in Ijebu.
Ojude Oba, which translates to "king's fore-court" in Yoruba, is marked by grandeur and cultural splendor. Over a million attendees, including Yoruba descendants from around the globe and particularly those of Ijebu descent, gather to celebrate this unique tradition.
Join us in exploring the rich cultural heritage and vibrant festivities of Ojude Oba, where tradition meets modernity in a spectacular display of unity and reverence.
