PT398 - Graham Hancock - Lost Civilizations, DMT Entities, and Altered States & Early Religion

  • Опубликовано: 16 июн 2024
  • In this episode, Joe interviews Graham Hancock: legendary bestselling author and writer and presenter of the new Netflix docuseries, “Ancient Apocalypse,” where he travels the world looking for evidence of lost civilizations likely much more advanced than historians previously believed.
Hancock talks about his early books and how ayahuasca influenced his writing; the similarities in cave art and the common link of altered states of consciousness; how integral these states likely were toward the creation of early religion (especially Christianity); how much the annihilation of religious traditions has hidden history; why his and Rupert Sheldrake’s Tedx talks were originally taken offline; new understandings of Neanderthals’ intelligence and creativity; the Quetzalcóatl; and the concept of the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis: could there have been an advanced civilization 12,800 years ago that we’re just starting to comprehend? Could it have been Atlantis?
He discusses the conflict with mystery and archaeology’s obsession with scientism and materialist reductionism - that we keep trying to force everything into little boxes of approved science and have lost our imaginations and openness to possibility, especially when you realize how often narratives are built based on interpretations of data rather than facts (since the farther back we go, evidence becomes harder to come by). He believes science needs humility, a willingness to listen to Indigenous history, and a much more open mind when it comes to altered states of consciousness: “I’m convinced we’re missing something important from our past, and if we don’t look for it, we won’t find it.”

You have always advocates for non western/eurocentric ideas/thought/interpretation of history which is so important of we sre to understand our world instead of just seeing it through white, middle class eyes. Great work always. We all should have open minds about most things.

      1. Christian mystics/gnostics were Not the earliest Christians. They were a direct branch of the ESSENES which was a mystical sect of Judaism, these were the moles of the catholic church, also knights templars, freemasonry the illuminati Rosecrucianism and the priory of Scion.. these were also the groups that give us not only out modern day media but they also started the outline for modern day academics, including the royal society....
      2. The sun nova-ing on a regular 12000 yr time clock would give us EVERYTHING we see of cataclysmic destruction of the ancient world.. Ice age poleshift glass beads.... the biggest difference between the 2 is fear and control.

I am very small person, just dare and dreaming to have conversation with Mr Graham ( sorry for my English) but got a chance to leave my comment 🙏 To invent, to discover - need great passion to work, to love. Out of my million questions will drop here few and hopefully, I will be lucky if my questions will reach you. Questions-what in general your main goal to seek such truth? Do you believe your truthful discovery is going to be helpful for this rotten world? Are you confident about your strength to deliver end discovery to us without any interruption “from the top”? Are you aware of Real power over our decisions/ is it exist? / are you strong enough to defeat opposition toward your work ? Thank you in advance.

I love his theory i also believe there were advanced civilizations in the past! Sure the one he talk about 12,000 yrs ago probably wasn’t as advanced as us…. But what about 150,000 years ago? 20 millions years ago? 100 millions years ago? There could very well have been one or more advanced civilizations that have since then been destroyed or left hearth to go into space

I hear the word freedom a lot in these discussions, all I can say is bollocks as I hear the word freedom from individuals who can afford freedom as they see it.
The vast majority of people are chained to the master to earn enough money to eat and live under a roof otherwise it is death, to drink a brew in south america would be bliss compared to spending a winter on the streets of the UK.
So it is all relative, I would love to buy Graham's books and read them but I have to pay the bills then buy food, my question is when does life start? rhetorical question may it be but when all that lies before you is a wall and no matter where you cast ones gaze all that lies before is that wall then the imaginings of others are but wishful thinking of peoples who will never be given the opportunity to experience that freedom.
Maybe a great cataclysm is due or over due so a restart can commence or an end to the suffering of the majority and by extension an end for everything, what I mean is lets be fair about this what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Been listening to what science has to say for my whole life, never made a religion out of it. Especially the last bit 'sneering' at science for not catering towards the personal experience, taking it into cancel culture territory with a term like 'colonial mindset' is absolutely reprehensible you guys. You are trying to fight an inanimate system that excels in establishing objective facts (without a specific claim in mind beforehand) and adding stuff like subjective experiences will only delude it's effectiveness and credulity. If you want your psychedelics and ancient civilization to be science, just follow the scientific method. It might not give you proof of a claim you already made, but it will give you proof of some kind.

Complete nonsense. Digging in the past and gluing together alternative theories does not mean the theory is true. That's why we have science fiction books. But this trend of new age writers to hypothesize when they themselves are not shamans or initiates is fundamentally wrong. Interview a shaman, not the patient for more credibility.

GH is always setting his argument up against what others said to believe and was wrong about. The thing is it’s rarely true. Go check yourself what the others (people working in the specific field) are actually saying. It basically his MO. And have never presented any good evidence of any of his claims about lost advanced civilizations or the other stuff. Before giving GH so much credit, check out the work done by specialists in the field. I know it is hard work, but remember, the ignorant is easily fooled. And the lazy is often ignorant. Don’t listen too much to GH. Take is as entertainment, nothing more.

💓Dears❗There is an urgent information about the captured Pleiadian alien from the Galactic Light Federation. He landed in Ukraine to ptevent using the weapon with nuclear component for which he saw the papers been signed in a foreign country for supplying it to Ukraine. and he had been captured and braught to the USA and captured there and after unsucsessful negotiations he been turchered (by depriving him food and amount of oxygen needed for staying alive) him to force the Galactic Federation to give a war technologies in exchange for his life. I do not place links here, so that it is not detected as spam, but there is info in Russian ( from different contacters) which can be listened with automatic translation. His name Griar Murati ( Гриар Мурати ). Ashtar Sheran is aware of this situation. there is a video evidences of the ufo shot in Kyiev

Come on Graham, you know that 6,000 years ago marks the only time that there was a change in human DNA. You know this. Perhaps that's why you chose 6,000 years ago as the number, but you should specify.

It's an invitation to demonic posesion. I strongly disagree with his take on Christianity, Catholicism is NOT Biblical Christianity, and early followers of Jesus were not gnostics, they were fishermen and working class people, not philosophers and scholars. Romans later came and created their own blend of church and state adapting their age old peganism, ie witchcraft and mithraic religions, to make it look Christian, but they were never, nor are today Christians. They warship a version of Mary (the moon goddess), not Jesus. It's so sad people think Catholics are Christians, they are not.

The process of discovery of our past can be found in the Bible. Genesis 6 opens up saying there were giants in the earth before and after the flood. The fallen angels corrupted human DNA and created the nephilim giants (book of Enoch), so God sent the flood and saved Noah because, and the Bible says it literally, that he was perfect in his generation, meaning his dna was still good, so in order to repopulate mankind Noah was the only guy, and his family, with the original human DNA.
The nephilim were the giants of ancient earth, and probably built Atlantis and all those megalithic structures from before God sent the flood to distroy them all.
The fallen angels were present when God created the earth, so they knew how God did it, the dimensions, the geometry, everything, and they passed down that knoledge to the egyptians, Greeks, etc.
Now, you might think thats crazy, but if you bilieve DMT is an open door to a common consciousness shared by all humans and entities from the other side, could it be possible that's how the fallen angels communicated with those civilizations, explaining the commonality we observe in their history, religion, constructions, and art?
And also, could that explain why prayers and miracles work because the power of our prayers is how we hear from God in the way He intended it?
God is real, and Jesus died for you to save you from Hell. All this other crap is the works of Satan and his fallen angels. Don't fall for it.

    Critical post-
Long following your podcast but I will be unsubscribing. No, not due to Graham.
Just listen to the vast differences in vocabulary and eloquence. "Uh,Hmm,Nice ". No intelligent follow ups. No dynamic engagement. Just bro style. It's a disservice to the subject you represent.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I thought Joe asked some great follow-ups and kept Graham very engaged, and largely just let Graham talk. Also, I wouldn't expect most podcast hosts to be able to keep up with Graham in terms of their vocabulary and how well spoken they are. He's a brilliant writer who has made a living off his words, after all.
