  • For the last backpacking trip of the summer, I spent 3 days backpacking to the most remote waterfall in the White Mountains of New Hampshire! This is also the final video in my 2022 Summer Road Trip series! I can't believe summer is already over!! I have always adored the White Mountains. They are genuinely one of my favorite places in the world, and this lovely summer trip to 13 Falls Tentsite in the heart of Pemigewasset Wilderness was just glorious, minus spilling boiling water on my feet 😅. If you love picturesque waterfalls with no other people around, this is the perfect backpacking trip for you! Also if you love mushrooms there's a ton of fun fungus in this video. This was also the first backpacking trip with my new tent, the Sea to Summit Alto TR2! Watch the whole video to see a little review of what I think of the Alto TR2 so far! The last backpacking trip of the summer and the last video in my summer road trip series is here! I hope you enjoy, and see you in the Fall, my friends!

I'm going to start backpacking for the sole purpose that there is a chance to run into Miranda in the wild! :D

With how those stuff sacks work, that tent looks like a great option for base camping like you did. Gives you more internal organization for being out a few nights and feeling "settled in" a bit.

Oh man that burn looked rough!!! Its crazy the little things we do on trail that are potentially dangerous and we dont even think about.

Oh wow--your video brought on a bad flashback at 5:13! I hope that scalded foot healed well Miranda. A young lady I knew suffered 3rd degree burn on her foot when her boyfriend accidentally knocked over a billy of water that was boiling on the edge of the campfire onto her foot. She was wearing similar shoes to yours. They instantly absorbed the boiling water and held it against her skin, making the burn even worse than it would have been for a spill onto bare skin because it took time for her to remove shoe and sock before we could pour cold water onto the burn.

Thank you for the time stamp!. As a child I saw a sibling get badly burned camping and I was able to skip over that particular trauma trigger and enjoy the rest of the video.

Great video. You certainly enjoyed yourself as usual. Shame about your foot just goes to show how easy it is to do. I bet the waterfall would have been nice to stand under. Cheers

Going to be that person don't hate me, Pemigewasset is pronounced "Pehm-ih-juh-wah-seht" or Pemi by the locals. It's an Abenaki word and the river of the same name starts there. Galehead Hut is on the AT so even though it's pretty remote it gets a steady flow of through hikers.

Correction: dispersed camping IS allowed: as long as its not within 200 feet of trails and water bodies or Within 1/4 mile of backcountry facilities (shelters, huts). 3. In the alpine zone - where trees are 8 feet or less (unless there is >3 feet of snow)
