Would also be interesting to see how it fairs the second year. As it turns out, that engine is the sweet spot for that chassis. Not too big and not too small either. Juuuuust right ! ! !😄😄👍👍👍👍😎
I have a 2008 2.0 Exclusive Tourer and the driver's side suspension strut is leaking. Citroen dealership has estimated £767 to replace. 😢 However, I fully agree with you about the ride quality. Just been out on a shopping trip 20 miles down the motorway and back. Absolutely superb ride quality. Much better than the 2.0 VTR+ Tourer that I had previously, and it was a comfortable ride. Perhaps better than the 1.6 because of the heavier 2.0 engine. Love these cars. They look fat more stylish than the bland looking German estates. Lovely to drive too. I don't have a heavy right foot and I get overall around 55 miles per gallon (imperial).
I stumbled on your video by God knows what "odd chance" and I could not be happier about it.... both because I agree with you about the "was it worth it" philosophy and because I'm a "Citroen geek" since my (now rather distant) childhood! and I love C5 II! I sincerely hope that your maintenance costs will drop like a rock and you'll enjoy its comfortable (and despite the comfort, surprisingly able) suspension! just one question.... WHAT IS THAT "iPad" in the place of C5's infotainment screen 😮?!?! some aftermarket job? and.... can you control the car's functions over it?
I had many Citroen. I'm currently driving a 2016 DS5 sport 180(2 liter 180 hk diesel) and I'm very happy with this car. BTW, the screen you have in your C5 is not original? It looks very nice. Thanks for the upload.
Hm, owning a C5 II 1.6 HDI… I wished the costs would have been so low. Seems that you never dealt with exhaust problems: filter, sensors, turbo… very costly
@@GheGho I wouldn't agree 100% personally. I sold the old 1.6hdi with 320K on the clock and it's still going strong. It's not uncommon to see Citroens and Peugeots with 1.6hdi with 400k+ for sale. I get the impression that it's a lot to do with how you treat the car. But that's my experience, you might have even more reasons so thanks for sharing
@@comcarclub Yeah that's completely fair as it seems to be down to how well the car was cared for. Missed or late oil changes and not being sympathetic to the turbo seems to be the main causes of engine problems. The 2.0 is supposed to be pretty much bullet proof if the forums are to be believed, and combined with the near identical fuel consumtion there rellly isnt much point in getting the 1.6 except for maybe cost of purchase. Then again it's less common for the cars with that engine to have the hydropneumatic suspension. I'm currently looking to finally buy a C5 after years of almost getting one, so cant wait to find a nice one. :)
It's not a club thing, if that's what you're implying! 😁 Honestly, I've gotten a lot of flak here in the Algarve for it, people ask if I'm a Porto supporter, bla bla bla. I've got to start wearing multicolour outfits

55mpg is amazing. It seems to be common for people in the UK! Is it the lack of mountains?
C5 is a nice car i wish i could have kept my 2011 silver sedan, very comfortably driving car.

No, it's not. You can find out more about the installation here: ruclips.net/video/QVEapxQBzPk/видео.htmlsi=dLmZkgNfm4CnmuLx
@@comcarclub Thanks a lot 😊
As I found out the hard way, a nice car, but not one most can afford to keep as a daily!
Please share the blue hair reason…. Love it!
Because why not?
@@comcarclub best reason!
You are a funny guy and you like Citroen’s. I think we could be friends 😊

Not YET, but I hope I won't on this. My 1.6hdi had a cracked oil case housing that caused chaos
At least for the C5 X7, the 1.6 is to be avoided due to many problems.
