And we also had The Iron Man 2 Video Game, which was after the Movie, and is Canonical to the MCU, Because its after the events of Iron Man 2 The Movie, and before the Prequel Comic (which isn't that important) and the Avengers.

      The Mk. L is cool. But, I personally don't care for it.
      Part of the appeal of Iron Man, for me at least, was seeing the mechanics of the suit, particularly whenever the suit was being donned or removed. I first saw Iron Man when I was nine years old, and watching as each plate was placed on Tony's body and then secured with multiple series of clasps and bolts amazed me. The suit looked high-tech. But, it also looked heavy, durable, and, most of all, plausible.
      However, with the Mk. L being comprised *entirely* of nanomachines, all of that is lost; the weight, the durability, those long, circling sequences showcasing the suit being put on or removed that could make any gear-head all wide-eyed with glee like some middle school girl seeing her favorite star... Gone. The suits in the past were plausible, and there was *always* room for improvements or experimentation (making suits with specialized roles and capabilities). But, like you stated, Tony doesn't need to make any other suit anymore. The latest model is effectively the perfect suit because it's comprised of nanomachines, which leads me to my second gripe.
      *NANOMACHINES DO NOT FUCKING WORK LIKE THAT!!!* I used to think that nanotechnology was the coolest thing in science fiction, until I started delving into actual science and saw how misrepresented such technology is. It would not work as depicted because it's literally impossible. First off, the prefix "nano"... Nano means "one billionth" (10−9 or 0.000000001). Let me illustrate just how small that is; A sheet of paper is about 100,000 nanometers thick and a strand of human DNA is 2.5 nanometers in diameter. So, whatever technology Tony is using would technically not be considered nanotechnology. Even if we make the size of the machines bigger, like around the average size of a grain of sand, we would still run into trouble. Yes, the machines may be small, individually. But, collectively, there are still enough of them to replicate the size of an actual Iron Man suit. This means that they can't just "collapse" and disappear inside of some canister the size of a tablet. Where does the power come from? How is it generated and distributed to the individual units? Do you know how many tens of thousands of these granular machines it would take to completely cover Tony's body in just a single layer of them? Can you even comprehend the sheer processing power it would take to coordinate the tens to hundreds of billions of machines that the Mk. L is likely comprised of?

    • @self-satisfiedsmirk5544
      @self-satisfiedsmirk5544 5 лет назад +9

      *Sigh...* Okay. I'd like to apologize. Now that my nerd rant is over, let me just clarify that I wasn't attacking either of you.
      You're free to like the Mk. L all you want. I do understand why many people would like it. I just don't share that sentiment.

    • @eyo..
      @eyo.. 5 лет назад +4

      @@self-satisfiedsmirk5544 agree with you, i like the mechanical part of the iron man way better than nano tech as well. regarding your rant about nanotech, i think it was well represented in the movie, in a way that MK L is more adaptable in situations and shows great regeneration through replacing lost nanotech. I could be wrong, but nano tech here is the nanosized technology Tony integrated to build MK L much like a human is composed of cells I believe.

    • @self-satisfiedsmirk5544
      @self-satisfiedsmirk5544 5 лет назад +2

      @@eyo.. Well, there are two issues with that interpretation of the "nanomachines" that comprise the Mk. L.
      The first issue is that the nanomachines that comprise the Mk. L do not seem to replicate themselves. If you go back and watch a number of scenes where Tony is fighting in the suit, specifically during his one on one confrontation with Thanos on Titan, you can see that a large amount of them were *redistributed* from a non-vital part of Tony's body when he created that wrist blade to try and stab Thanos. This little detail was something that I appreciated, as it implied that there were a finite number of them that Tony could control.
      As for the thing about the nanomachines being self-replicating... If they did have the capabilities of Von Neumann devices, we would have to see them "devour" any useful object around (i.e metal beams, lamps, fire hydrants, concrete, plants, etc.) in order to attain the raw materials necessary to construct more of themselves.

    The reasons given for the arc reactor in Tony's chest seems inconsistently explained in the movies, but as I recall in IM1, he is hit with one of Stark Industries' rockets, which sends shrapnel into the bloodstream, eventually killing the victim. The arc reactor is created to power the electromagnet which keeps the shrapnel from reaching Tony's heart. That's how it's keeping him alive. And it powers the Mark I suit (and later the Mark III temporarily).
    It's not powering his heart or keeping it beating properly like a pacemaker, nor is it a replacement for his heart. And it's not powering his body. Yet after IM1, the filmmakers seem to lose track of what exactly it's doing, even when in IM3 they just take it and presumably all the shrapnel out (how exactly? And why was this not an option before?)
    Anyway, great video.

    • @DaMasta981
      @DaMasta981 2 года назад +3

      He was capable of removing the shrapnel; see how easy it was in 3 to remove.
      He kept the arc reactor there to show how smart he was: that’s all he did it for.
      Like Vivec in Morrowind consciously keeping the asteroid from impacting against Vivec City: he was showing the populace how powerful he was only; and could’ve swung it away at any time.
      Later iterations of the armor was just to power the suits

      @@calebchampion7781 why would he make a Thor buster in the MCU? Thor in the movies doesn't have a record of being a threat, unlike the hulk, so it'd be pointless to make one.

    The MK 49 is Pepper Potts Rescue Armor. It's written on the back of it, on the flight stabiliser. 0049

    I believe the mark 48 suit is the one Tony Stark uses in the Ms Marvel comics with that diamond shaped power beam.

      @@thewannabeweeb tony has already built multiple suits for spiderman and specifically the iron spider and upgraded hulkbuster for Bruce, and upgraded war-machine armors, im hoping he started rebuilding and upgrading specific armors for each team member for the fight ahead, he has all the schematics for previous armors all he has to do is refabricate them, which he has the ability to do, or he makes completely new ones, even pepper potts has a rescue armor that tony obviously has made for her in endgame.
      It would be an amazing moment even for one fight to have them all armoured up, as really how is Hawkeye or Black widow going to be involved in any of the real physical fights with thanos? otherwise they get relegated to supports in all the fights, and hopefully tony cared about them surviving enough to give them a suit lol
