When my wife and I lived near Rockford, IL from 96 - 12, a friend of ours played in a local band. One night, I was volunteer crew for him, when his band was the opener for Disturbed at a local venue. My friend was acquainted with with Dave and introduced us. That made me a lifelong Disturbed fan.
I got to see them at a small club right before they got famous for only $6! Then I saw them after they got famous and tickets were considerably higher.
There is not a stark contrast. If you listen to all of there songs(well most) he has a voice that can do anything even in the screaming it's not just a scream its a tuned vocal triumph of a scream to match the song. Not bashing you just saying disturbed has always had a great sound.
I was a kid when this album was brand new, my mom and her bf played the hell out of it! To the point that this song and all the others are permanently burnt into my head..

From then on my dad showed me bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Helloween and I discovered alot of awesome new ones like Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch and Slipknot... Been a metal fan all my life and I love looking back at this, brings back memories :D

David Draiman has the most incredible voice! So much range and I feel he is overlooked because of the snobbery against metal, despite the genre having some of the most talented singers with the greatest ranges (Rob Halford springs to mind)
Might be a bit odd, but I first heard Disturbed's music in elementary school. I found a game called "Hellfight 3.5" on the school's computers in the library. And the first fight you have to do against the king had this song for in-game music. Here I am, recently graduated from High School and still listening.
