yes, we had 2 litters of Siamese kits a year apart (then mama had surgery) Big year old brother suddenly spent his whole day taking care of the new little siblings when they were very tiny kits.....cleaning them, grooming them, lining them up at nipples, etc. He did it for 4 days.....and then he was done. He climbed out of the baby basket and never went back. All the best to you!

So lovely, a year after the fact, to see Buster and Freya meet each other. I can see their bond being forged right there on Day One. Won't be long till they are making mugshots together! And I am of course eagerly awaiting the birth of Freya's kittens. I hope it is tomorrow--that is Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., and nothing could be more perfect.

@@Maine_Coon_Adventures Thanks for underscoring this! I've been taking a shine to this breed from afar for many years (online) and I've never had the fortune to meet one. But the qualities I've picked up on from cute admiration has my heart swooning. 😁 It appears to me they contain an unusually high intelligence amongst cat breeds and so very down to earth, too. I may be projecting over here 😌

@@silkeden1 as a Maine coon owner myself I highly recommend this breed. They are the sweetest cats and have super affectionate personalities!
I personally recommend getting a pair of brothers if you get one. That dynamic makes for an inseparable pair for 15 to 20 years depending on health.

Your Buster looks a LOT like my Big Yellow. I wasn't prepared for that. Hello from a Mainer with Maine coons lol I miss the big old lug. His cheeks were a lot wider and he weighed 30lbs, but their coats are almost identical. That and Buster is beautiful and clean, while Big Yellow was a king Tom street cat, feared by all for his savagery in battle. He was truly brutal and would attack any and everything in his territory. It took me years of battling his standoffish attitude and leaving him snacks to finally befriend that lug. But boy did I befriend him alright! Once we were like brothers in his eyes, spending some time with him every day in the woods, I was finally able to pick him up and even cuddle the beast. The same cat would fearlessly attack random people if they got near my porch lol he was so big and bold with a menacing howl, he genuinely scared people into running. I miss that old boy, he lived a good life. My oldest video has me holding him like a baby kitten for cuddles, I'm a big dude but his head was half as big as mine! He may be gone from this world now, but he is lived on by his many offspring, two of which live happy indoor lives with me and two live with a nice couple I'm friends with. There's definitely a bunch more roaming around that town I'm sure are his too. Seeing Buster here definitely got me all sentimental and missing that wild golden tiger. He was a warrior at heart, huge ego and so proud. It was impossible not to respect him for it. I'd bring him in during the coldest winter nights, he'd sleep on my bed or couch for a few hours then threaten to beat me up if I didn't let him back outside. He'd be right back in after another 4-5 hours banging on the door but he refused to stay indoors and let some other cat move in on his turf. He was one of the finest most manly men the feline species had to offer and he totally knew it. R.I.P. Big Yellow!
Here's hoping Buster enjoys the kitten friends, he seems to be happy having some new blood to boss around.

Buster is probably not as tough as your cat was, but we also go on adventures in the forest together. I have many videos of that on my channel if you are interested 🙂
@@Maine_Coon_Adventures I will most definitely check those out, I miss our woods walks a lot. I baby the heck out of his sons and spoil them to the point they want nothing to do with going outside anymore. They loved it when they were kittens, I'd make paths through the snow and they would run them like a race track hahaha but they refuse to even go out at all anymore.

Was that Idun, that sat in the bed with Buster? The time when all four were looking (at whatever you were moving) was adorable; one for the record. Is that a new bed? Buster treated it just like that plastic bin he sits in. Has Buster been out in the woods now that it is getting cooler?
Yes, it was Idun!
And that moment really amazed me. So lucky to get everyone to pose so nicely for the camera.
The bed is not really new, it is usually a part of the big cat tree, but I took it down and let the kittens have it for now.
I haven't been out with him so much lately. I'm planning on doing it more now because it's definitely colder, so heat is not a problem anymore 😸

He`s a good and calm daddy, too bad the kittens are not from him. But he accepted them and started to teach them things. His flehming at 1:48 was too cute, his face expression priceless 🥰
Did you lure him out of the bed with the box trick after recording?
I left him there for a while and when I came back to take away all the stuff he was still sitting there. So I think I threw him a treat or something to get him out of the bed 😹

I often tried to lure my old Maine Coon mixbreed Maxi outdoors for a little walk in the sun, he had no problem with the harness, he accepted it like he already knew it. At home, he followed me around through the whole apartment, around tables, no problem without and with harness and leach. I could carry him on my arms, going down the stair, let him on the ground and opened the door. But he stopped at the door, turned around, looking up the stair. With leach, he just laid down and didn`t move until i picked him up to carry him up. He was a stray years before, but he told me this way that he never again wanted to go outside. He loved all the comfort he had inside, couch, bed, carpets, cuddly blankets and cats beds, the big cat tree, 2 caves, water whenever he wanted to drink, cuddles on my lap whenever he wanted. He wanted his spa session every month, a bath, heated blankets to dry and brushing his short fur. So i gave up on the idea of taking him out, he loved his easy and cozy indoor life much more than a little more freedom. Maybe it is normal Maine Coon behavior when they get so old, remember, he was close to 20 years old as i got him. But he often rested at an open window, looking out, sniffing the fresh air, taking a sunbath or just watching the time fly by. When he was tired, he always came to me for snuggling and a nap on my lap. I tried to give him all he wanted, i never forced him to do things he disliked. He was old and just wanted his meals in time, a clean toilet, much time for napping and sleeping, much snuggling and cuddling with me. And a place in my bed to sleep close to me at night. He was happy with his life, he was very gentle, loving and trusting. He reached the golden age of 26 1/2 years, so i think he had good 6 1/2 years with me and loved this life.
