In America, there is state funded media, political biased media, and center media. The US government may fund some media sources to say something or not say something, but nothing is legally forcing them to abide by that. Not to mention, they wont be arrested for telling the truth because the government funding media is already illegal. Political biased media is a media source that doesn’t receive outside funding, but will still pander to a specific political party. Examples include the democrat leaning CNN and the Republican leaning FOX news. Then there’s centrist media, which is sometimes hard to identify as other news sources can pose themselves as “centrist” but aren’t really being centrist. For example they may not cite sources or provide evidence for claims. Simply by claiming to be centrist convinces people believe them. Always google the authors of articles to see their affiliations. Finding accurate news is hard, which is why most people tend to just believe what big news channels say and only read headlines. That’s why in Russia, the people trust their own government and people in America don’t trust their own government.
