    a piece of the same veneer in the Floyd Rose pocket where you can see under it would add a finishing touch

    • @TexasToastGuitars

      Not a bad idea. The one down side is that then someone would think I was trying to hide the fact that it is veneer. I can't win with some people

      Also, would that lovely veneer get marred when you pulled back on the trem, I always end up using a thin piece of foam.

    Really dig how stewmac beefed up there routing templates they work much better now and the Floyd templates are great. They aren't designed for the pros though but it's not a huge deal I just make my own template for the Floyd pro recess everything else is good.

    Wonderful explanation and technique! Should I buy a drill press to do the same work, which is the "accessory" or set-up I need to look for to have the guide at the base and have it aligned with the pin of the drill press? I mean is something you designed and realized by yourself or something that can be bought? Many thanks

  • @runforcoverlive

    Hi, thanks for the video!
    With regard to recessing the body of the tremolo as opposed to surface mounting, does this affect the use of the tremolo when bending upwards?
    On my Charvel Desolation which has a recessed Floyd Rose, the rear recess is padded so the string locking nuts don't hit wood I guess, but is there enough clearance without recessing the body when bending the tremolo upwards, as it would seem if I'm going to use it like that then I may need to recess the body regardless?
    I realise it depends how far I bend it but I just wondered if you'd encountered an issue of this nature?
    Thanks, love the videos by the way, the banter made with laugh! 😊

    • @TexasToastGuitars
      @TexasToastGuitars 4 года назад

      Hi Simon.
      Having a little neck angle isn't a bad thing, sometimes we do a 1 degree neck pocket. It really all depends on how you are going to mount the bridge and if you are going to add any recessing

    Here is my idea of how to do it: You measure the highest point of the guitar curved top,
    then you build a frame around the guitar exactly of that Hight.
    Now all you have to do is to create a l template large enough that will seat (ride) on that frame, and from that point everything is the same as routing a flat top guitar.

    • @TexasToastGuitars
      @TexasToastGuitars 5 лет назад
