I am given a commission on every sale via the links posted, this does not increase the price you pay but it allows you to support the channel and continue receiving great content. The usage of these links is appreciated and a huge thank you to everyone watching
I have a Vanuatu and a Khuraburi. They are both awesome watches if you like chunky divers. That being said, they aren't mind-blowing. I would say, if you want one, get on the list and forget about it. When you get a call, see if you still think it fits into your collection. It doesn't cost anything to be on the list. Full disclosure: I didn't wait for either of mine. I was able to grab them as soon as they went on sale.
Thank you Howard for letting us drool over your new watch.
Thank you Howard for making this video possible 👏👏👏
I absolutely love Helm watches. I have all 4 models (non titanium versions) and they are all incredible.
I love the attention to detail. All the tools and spares, colour matched date wheel etc. I have been on the waiting list since I first saw a review 3 years ago
Watching that was as fun as if I had opened it myself! Cheers for reviewing it.
Thanks again for sending it in buddy
..... I've never wanted to go on a Rolex waiting list but I'm thrilled to have scored a Helm Vanuatu ......... a stunning boofy watch that's right at home on an Aussie beach ................
just checked... 15 months to go, after over two years. Great review as always, thanks! Cheers
Some serious diver! And the generosity of Howard, good on you mate. Not sure if I'd have the mental strength to be able to send a watch to someone before I even got to wear it hahah
Love Helm. I have the Titanium Khuraburi. I had, and moved on the Miyako for my cost. You can sell these at a higher premium. I am in line for another Helm. Cheers!!!
You absolutely nailed the review! Smashing, Cousteau style, dive watch. NH35A movement balances the cost as you allude to. However I would not wait the 4 years as I am 77 years on this earth, thanks be to God.
Bought one new 3 years ago. Sold it. If I knew the waiting list was gonna blow up, I would have kept it. Glad you got to spend some time with one. They are very well made for sure.
Morning Zeb, so I have waited 4 years for this exact watching the same nato! I have the white komodo already and it's my daily, I got lucky and got one at cost price on ebay. I was already on the waiting list and can say that without any doubt it's worth the wait. Mine should be here in a week or so. Regarding the clasp, open it from the long end and it just pops open easy peezy. I also own the khuburi ti and the myiako I'm abit of a helm fan boy! Thanks for reviewing this one and good man Howard!
Thanks Howard great job!
Had Ti and SS Vanuatu, a Komodo, and a Khuraburi. Didn’t wait for any, bought them preowned. As time goes on there will only be more preowned to choose from. Great watches, reasonably priced. Definitely a micro that has reached the next level and see no reason why they won’t be around for years. I ended up selling mine after a while.
Hey, Zeb. Agreed. I own the white Komodo, and it is excellent. I actually don’t like the weight, though . . . so of course, I’m on the wait list for the Ti Khuraburi. I’m not in a rush. Plenty of other watches to buy or build in the meantime 😉😁👍
No I wouldn't wait 4 yrs to get that watch as much as I like it I would rather save my money for that time and buy something alot nicer but I really do like the watch a real dive instrument worthy of any collection Anyways another killer review my friend Thanks as always and Stay Frosty 👍
Update to my previous comment. I now have a Vanuatu after exactly 2 years and just put my order in for a white dial Komodo after 2 years & 3 months. Just checked my position for the other 2 models and I still have 1.5 and 3.3 years to go on them!🤷♂️
I’m on the list for the Komodo in white with black bezel and the blue/ Tiffany hands and markers 👍
Buy the silver lumed bezel and white rubber band as well for an occasional change of scenery - standard straps don't really fill the gap.
Bezel and strap are easy enough to swap.
I've forgotten how long I've been on the waitlist, must be well over a year now. Currently 1971 for a Vanuatu and 2417 for a Komodo. How many watches do they turn out per month?
I have a black Komodo and I can confirm it is pretty awesome. Not a regular dive watch, but a real ISO 6425 certified divers. Love it.
Yup I'm just recently on the Vanuatu waiting list ... now how to just figure out how to get the Zelos I want 🤔 ... no waiting list for those .. just waiting and consistantly (daily?) Checking the website and hoping you get one before they are bought up.
Great review - I have the Vanuatu in stainless steel and the Komodo with white dial - I think I must have been lucky and jumped on these before the hype train really took off!! Still amazing tool divers which won’t be leaving the collection any time soon..great value if you can get hold of one at retail💪👍
I've heard in another reviewers recent video that the wait for a Helm is actually longer than that for a Rolex
I have all the Helm watches. Never had to wait for one except the Miyako. That one I got after 3 months. Currently on the list for the white dial Ti Khuraburi..
Thanks Howard 👌
I went on the list for the white komodo, then checked ebay. One had literally just been listed, brand new, guy flipped it with a very small uplift in price. I got it then bought the silver lumed bezel and white rubber band - i was 8000 + on the list.
The MacDonalds " I want it and I want it now!! " instinct kicked in at just the right time - my favourite watch and can't wait for summer 😁👍
Currently 7805 on the list 😱.
Thanks for the vid, reassuring to know it's not all in my head
i just ordered one on Ebay...I thought about ordering a different bezel from Helm as well.. did you get yours and how bad is it to change out?
@@andrewlineberger7544 Do it! - no problem to swap, youtube video, very straightforward. Helm very helpful and accommodating, no problem that you didn't buy the watch from them.
Such quality, definitely in my top 5 of a 30+ collection, love wearing it.
Also bought the white rubber band too, all ready for this summer 😁👍
Just unbelievable how good it wears on your wrist. Shocked! 47mm lug to lug isn't that small for a 6.5 inch wrist, and yet it works...
47.5mm wears surprisingly good on a 6.5" wrist, i find the limit is 50mm
Thanks Howard!
Love that orange dial, is kinda unique
I thought my Komodo was too thick when I got it. I'm still amazed what a chubby girl she is but the weight feels good on the bracelet. The solid feel is comforting. It's got amazing lume I notice it very often glowing when I go indoors in daytime. I still want an orange Komodo but it will have to wait. (Maybe a TI someday?)
These are great watches and although the wait has never been 4 years for me, the lines are getting pretty long. Some things to know about those cards that came with the watch: The note from Matt is handwritten by the owner of the company to the purchaser of the watch. The notes regarding depth testing are Matt's handwriting as he personally depth tests each watch before packaging them. It's a micro brand, with a very hands-on owner who designs watches to be used, to be dived with, to be beaten on as tools and to have very high quality control. These are great watches.
Yup. Waiting...
I have 2 Vanuatus' and 1 Khuraburi and the last time that I checked, I was number 2169 on the Komodo list 🤦🏽♂️ The ironic thing is since I've been waiting, (so long) I've become a little bit of a high-beat snob and depending on how I'm feeling when I get the call I might have to tell 'em "go on and give it to number 2170"
I have the OG Vanuatu and recently picked up the Ti Khuraburi. Waiting on the Ti Vanuatu.
The Komodo looks good! I had a Blue/Orange Khuraburi and sold it recently. My biggest issue was that even after sending it back for regulation it was still my slowest watch. That combined with the lack of date caused me to sell it. They are unique watches and really liked my 10 o'clock crown.
i purchased this watch after owning the white Komodo version for several years. love the watch but would definitely change the date window to have a white background. in lower light conditions it is difficult to read the date, otherwise i love the orange version.
Wow, that long a wait.. mad
I actually got notification to purchase a komodo like 3 months ago but I decided to not get it too chunky for me so I decided to wait for the Vanuatu instead.
Just did wait 4 years for my Vanuatu they just sent me the email saying there gonna send me my payment instructions in the next couple days I can’t wait
I love nh35, i dont live with fear while doing exercise with my watches, because if the movement gets damage i can easily buy a new one
Nice Watch Zeb and who doesn’t like an Orange Dial Diver. My Concern and considering what it’s up against even with other Micro Brands is the Size,40mm is Just not what Divers (or even desk Divers Want) from an aspiring Dive watch.
44mm should be the minimum in my opinion and personally my Gorilla Wrists would Eat that Watch. It has all the other Requirements needed and even a nice Bracelet that’s similar to the Seiko Monster Bracelet but the Size Is my own personal concern.
Top marks on the Review Sir as always🙏👍⌚️
Awesome review , do you think they’re on par with PROXIMA & MERKUR standard?
Great review mate, thanks and thank you Howard for making it possible! I'm thinking Helm have reacted (at least some bit) to the long waiting lists. I have a Komodo (white dial) and at the time (3 years ago), each month my name moved about 150 spots. I recently got a Vanuatu and in the last 2-3 months before the purchase, my name moved roughly 400 places on the list so, looks like they are upping the production in response to the lists. One other aspect I noticed - when I got the Komodo, it shipped from the US and the personalised card was fully hand written and signed by "Matt" (the founder). Now, the card only has the customers name hand written and the rest is pre-printed and, the watches ship direct from China. 4 years is nuts and when you see San Martin releasing a Vanuatu homage (for close to the same price as the OG), Helm may have begun to react?
I've been on the list for over a year, turned 50, and leaning toward a nice presage with an extra complication. Something under the radar possibly titanium. Mr. Watcher do you think I can go wrong with the newish green and gold dial alpinist on a strap code jubilee? Thanks, George
I’ve been on the waiting list for about a year now but my taste in watch size has changed since then. I used to like a nice chunky diver but now this is a bit too thick. Everyone on the wait list will get a boost upward when I drop off.
Helm watches are a bit too hardcore for daily wear although they are no doubt great for diving 👍
just got my order in, its only been three years😂
Excellent review as always. Very nice watch indeed but would I wait 4 years for one? No. If I wanted the look I'd go for the Orange bezel Seiko Samurai SRPB97, ISO certified,, about $550 and I wouldn't be waiting 4 years. Same movement too. However I can understand the enthusiastic fan base for these watches, but I just wouldn't have the patience!
Fair point and I agree
I concur as well. I'd wait 4 years if the watch can fly and cook.
@@bkwong2535 😂😂 That would be worth waiting for my friend!!
Btw I meant to say Orange Dial, not bezel! 😁
Ebay had one for $325 jus now
I fell victim and bought it
Thankye Sir from Denver North Carolina
Never heard of the brand so on that basis I wouldn't wait 4 years. I waited less than half that time to get several Rolex. It's an interesting watch though
For me 15.5mm is about as thin as I want to go I like thick chunky divers and chronographs. That being said this is a sweet watch.
It seems fine, well built, totally inoffensive, but... a four year wait? ... there are a lot of nice watches out there!
Time to get them while waiting for your Helm ...
@@karlsenula9495 Helms seem nice, perfectly fine... but no more than that. I can't imagine looking forward to them so much that anything more than a couple of weeks wait time would be acceptable.
Shrinks on the wrist doesn't it .... I've got the white dial, baby blue indices and fully stainless bezel.
I found mine on eBay, mint condition, at a pretty competitive price ..... a 4-year wait would feel like a stretch.
The thumbnail style reminds me more of the Watch Me with Watches channel than this one!
I only had to wait 1 1/2 years before I won a “wait list customer lottery” which granted me 48hrs to purchase or keep my place in line.
Wait 4 years... Nope.
It does have a great look though. Having that date wheel darker then the dial, it looks bad.
I'm with you on that clasp too. Would you Wait 4 years for a Helm, and if not what watch would you buy instead of Helm?
Bro you from Birmingham?
Yeah man
Take an armada or helson. Much better and sooner…
I just won the lottery for the waiting list for the Helm Komodo, but I decided to pass. Rather get some Citizen Promaster at those discount outlets, or maybe a Aliexpress. Probably a year ago I would have bought it, but I think waiting this long made me feel tired of this design
Would I buy it? Yes. Would I wait 4 years? That’s a big negative.
You've uploaded a black screen? I can hear you, maybe its me.....
I think definitely you, i can see it fine
Would I wait four years for this watch, F**k No! I actually really like this watch but I won't play these games. There are thousands of other watches to be had. I'll spend my hard earned money with a company that actually have watches available to buy! Everyone wants to be Rolex!
No.
Ha haa. Making something attractive by making it hard to get. This sales trick has been used by women (and men) for millions of years.
No, ridiculous wait for an average looking watch
...a useless brand... so, NO WAITING!
4 years !!!......Who is making these ?.....Some bloke part time in his Bedsit !!!!
Guess what: I just got email that in the next 5 days I'll be able to get the 🤍 titanium Khuraburi! Only a few months since I was on the list...
Funny, I got the same lottery email for the Ti Khuraburi today, too.
@@jeremiahjohnson8343 congrats bro!
