Also noteworthy about Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, the Wii U version has the online shop integrated, which means some unique items (like elysian whip) are available and makes the game much easier because of good weapons available to buy!

The Wii U was such a weirdly unique system and I'm sad that I wasn't able to afford one until the end of its lifespan. I only have a few games for it, and hopefully with this and other people's recommendations on the digital eShop front I'll be able to nab at least a few more before the eShop closes. Thanks for your recommendations!

Yes, agreed, the Wii U is incredibly unique. I see its problems, but I gotta say, I love this weird system. Glad to be able to show you some games worth getting before they close the eshop, Callogan! Thank you so much for watching and leaving this comment!

I was tempted to get one but somehow it didn't appeal to me also the thing wasn't region free there were a lot of exclusives on the Wii u that most gamers couldn't play.

You: "Maiden of Black Water is missing one important feature on newer releases..."
Me: "Ah, yes. The Samus and Zelda costumes."
You: "The Wii U gamepad camera"
Oh yeah, that is a really interesting aspect of the game. It's upsetting that the definitive way to play the game is going to be lost, especially with no US physical copies existing.

Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon on Wii U also has "online" content is that much easier to access on Wii U than on DS. The Wii U is patched so you buy equipment without having to recreate the old network settings to connect to the internet on the DS.

You should absolutely cover the Silver Falls games! There are five on 3DS and two on Wii U, and they're all fantastic and unique games that will be gone soon! They're made entirely by one guy and massive labor-of-love games for the systems.

Also an honorable mention a little indie game called "I got to run" it was both on the 3DS and the Wii u. It was released around the time of the Iwata's passing and in his honor the proceeds from that game went to charity to fight cancer so I think that's definitely a title you need to download.

Subscribed to your channel because your guides are so detailed & organized. Love went into these videos & it shows.
I'm racing against time trying to get all of this stuff. On Wii U AND 3DS.
Luckily I have most of the physical on Wii U & had a lot of them when they first came out.
Game & Wario IS a special title no doubt. Not surprised to see people finally catch on as its price rises into the sky.
I made sure to buy physical on Wii U even if Nintendo pushed digital.
So my Wii U collection is more getting the indie digital stuff that's unique on Wii U.
The 3DS is the one that's swamping me because until recently I didn't know I had Time Investment DLC!! WHAT?!?
Got loads of 3DS stuff coming in the mail this week so these guides of yours will help me complete my collections.

I got my Wii U for my birthday back in July 2015 and I have loved it eversince. The only thing I regret is not buying eShop games in all this time I've owned it. I always bought the retail games at $60 a pop wich ended up ported on the switch anyway. I could have used all that money to instead get all these unique games. Now I have to work against time to get all these virtual console games!!

The library of games are amazing from the NES to the Wii and some of these games are not even ported to the Switch, such a disappointment. I use it as my Wii, GBA, NES, Turbografx and N64 machine, as well as the Wii U hidden gems you saw here. It has amazing value that loads of people are not aware of and yeah, only issue is the storage, which I had to buy a dedicated external HD to fix, which sux, but it was worth it. I also dislike the fact that the gamepad has to have its own power outlet, I mean, a charger like the switch would have made it much better, but its a minor thing too. Excelent console regardless. Is a fantastic remake and adds a couple of new sections, the first is a tutorial in disguise and the other part is new and is introduced later in the story (worthy) 😌.
The game don't follow the modern rules (There is no weapon triangle) and is based in the original game play from Gaiden but still feels like a Fire Emblem game.

Wait, Rhythm heaven fever is $90 now?!! I remember being it at a vintage stock for cheap, and I still have it.
Geez, now I want to just hold on to every little game I have, cause I've gotten rid of a ton of games that ended up getting expensive later down the road

    • @FromTheVoidGames

Yeah, games prices changed drastically since covid. Nowadays, if the game is good and either had limited print or was obscure at the time, chances are that its value will increase a lot with time. Rhythm Heaven Fever checks all those boxes :D Thanks for watching!

Rush seems like a cousin to Pedra on the Atari VCS/Steam. I wonder if they share the same developer?

Compared to the 3Ds, these indie games, mostly, in the wii u really don’t interest me at all, the switch and all newer consoles are plagued of such games… let’s go back to the 3Ds shop.

19:18 Simple, most people have never understood the Gamepad including most of the press (and specially IGN which gained the reputation of having terrible players)
This is also the reason Star Fox Zero got so underappreciated as well (don't know why is not in this list)

True, the gamepad is a misunderstood device for sure. Zombi U and Star Fox Zero are not here for 2 reasons: firstly they both have cheap physical versions, and secondly they are not very hidden, like Zeblin said. I am trying to focus on games tha will become problematic to acquire once the eshops close, specially the ones people don't know about, so thats why I make these restrictions. Thanks for watching!

very minor drawbacks to pandora's tower. Hidden piece of art. that game is incredible to any collector or filthy casual. The New Game + option gives it even more since your weapon upgrades carry over, and yes, you get more than one weapon. the biggest setback is the final two towers don't load unless you stand facing the tower at the end of the cliff. some sort of error with the copies of disc. the game crashes and will not load unless you sit for awhile at the edge of the cliff looking at the towers. it's incredibly odd. only thing wrong with it other than that it is the perfect wii rpg

My question about Portable Space Adventures: I hate the low rez screen and pressure based touch sensitivity in the Wii U controller so much that I avoid all games that require its use. Do you hate the controller as much as I do? And Affordable Space Adventures was just sooo good that it allowed you to overlook your hatred for the controller?

    • @FromTheVoidGames
      @FromTheVoidGames  2 года назад +1

I don't hate the controler at all actually, but I can understand why you do. I double checked and there is no requirement for pressure in the touch screen of the gamepad to manipulate the levers in the control panel, its very sensitive, light touches with the stylus will suffice. The low resolution of the screen is of almost no importance either since the bulk of the game happens on the TV. And yes, the gameplay is excelent to the point that these 2 issues should be of no concern. If you dislike touch functionalities completly than it is a problem, otherwise it should be fine. Of course you will have to appreciate this very particular style of gameplay of manipulating several systems to traverse obstacles. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

@@FromTheVoidGames I appreciate the effort of you double checking some of the points I raised. Pretty awesome. The reason I commented in the first place is because I think the game looks great. One of my favorite Atari VCS titles is Thrustlander, which involves navigating a ship through tight caverns. So, I was drawn to ASA... but then put off by the stated control scheme. However, your extra work on all of this, which is like my own private mini review, has convinced me to pull the trigger. I'm going to download it tonight and giver a whirl. I appreciate your effort. Thanks, man!

I didn’t see your video when eshop was still going where is that Time Machine when I need one? My Wii U and several other systems along with thousands of dollars was lost in a house flood about that time so spent a long time sulking and slowly repurchase some of the systems and some games I had 3 feet of water in basement so games on the bottom 4 shelves of all stands were ruined. And insurance didn’t cover it. So yeah. But in last month I repurchased a wiiu and got some of the games that were ruined oddly enough wiiu I only lost about 13 game cases games were fine though so that’s my sad story. lol
Think Nintendo will turn on servers for two weeks for me so I can get some games? Lol

It's funny how many of these are just Wii games. For all the nonsense from gamerboys about "shovelware," the Wii has a FAR superior library compared to N64, GameCube and Wii U COMBINED!
