Worst places to live in Phoenix, Arizona - • Top 10 Reasons NOT to ...
What's it like living in Houston? Well it's hot and humid, just like most of Texas, and is actually the largest city in the Lone Star State, although the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area is actually slightly bigger. It's also, along with DFW, Austin, San Antonio and Houston Suburbs, one of the fastest growing and best cities to live in America. If so many people are moving to Texas, and there is a cheap cost of living, then why shouldn't you live in Houston, TX.
Thanks for watching From Here to There! This is one of my top ten videos where we explain things about the world, it's history, and geography, starting with the different states, cities, and towns in the United States. Find out the worst and best places to live in 2019!

On a real note, Houston really is a great city, and I enjoy it a lot, besides for the humidity in the Summer. Hope you enjoyed and found some of these reasons helpful! :D
do Nebraska! 😎
Definitely gonna do Omaha and Lincoln at somepoint! I lived in Omaha for almost a year back in 2017-2018, I always love going back to visit haha
Great video, very different than others. Why don't you do the reasons to move to Houston, because your information is very interesting/informative.
Do Boston where you were born?
Baltimore!!
LOL this guy obviously hasn't lived in Houston, the only negative things is the traffic and the heat in summer
Ikr
@@notsure6187 MAYBE DONT BUY A HOUSE IN A FLOOD ZONE LOL
There are plenty more negatives: High crime rate, ugly city devoid of charm or natural beauty, uneducated, low-class residents, no good public transportation, etc. I've lived in NY, Seattle, LA, and Boston, and Houston is BY FAR, the worst!! Thank God my job contract ends at the end of next month and I can finally leave!!! YAY!
Pdubz heat its not even a problem, every single home and building in houston has an air conditioner
Not Sure i live near downtown and it never flooded 😂
i’ve lived in houston almost my entire 19 years of life and have NEVER seen a tornado
IM SAYIN
There was one about 25 years ago, it hit my neighborhood.
Crystal Gonzalez was it in Channelview? I remember a bad one hit at beltway and Wallisville
@@demented_cyclesyup, it barely missed my house. I remember people walking everywhere after it hit. One of my classmates said it took his dog. 😔
Crystal Gonzalez we were driving from Crosby to hobby airport just before the tornado hit. We saw the destruction on the way back home
Plot twist
He made this video to prevent Californians coming here.
Big Boss how can anybody be so crazy to leave California to go to Houston? The humidity and roaches will be enough to keep any Californian away from this shit hole!
Gallygab Agreed.
@@gallygab
Because California’s tax rates are through the roof and you can actually afford a house down here. Why do you think Tesla’s moving down here?
@@gallygab California sucks. It has the highest income tax rate out of any state. The highest homeless population. The city with the highest price per square foot. Wildfires. High crime rates. Earthquakes. Shall I go on?
@@gallygab lol my house is 300k here in Houston it would probably be around 900k in Cali not to mention all of Cali is mostly earthquakes overpriced houses and overpopulation

That part was exaggerated, but apparently when I was 2 in 1992 there was a devastating tornado. I was a baby so I don't remember it.

“It SnOwS a LoT In HoUsTon” it’s only snowed twice since I was born and I’m 19
Yeah, it snows about once a decade in Houston, and that's about a quarter inch, if that.
True
It snows every 9 months and 67 days I mean every 9 years
It sure has
Yea...it literally NEVER snows
As a Houstonian seeing this in my RUclips suggested, I’m lowkey insulted
Israel Fox on my momma
Just agree so they can stop moving here !!! Lol
I’m bout to move here from Illinois what about me lol
Houstonians are way too prideful and Arrogant..so prideful to the point where it blinds y'all.
Y'all literally think no one is better than y'all..even tho it's clear y'all aren't the best.
Texas as a whole is better than these other states..
Chris Hampson Idk how to take this. Like r u trying to insult me or agree? Cuz I hate Houston and myself. I was just kidding around
I'm from Houston and I love it there. A lot of the "issues" pointed out in this video are highly dramatized. And there are particular zoning laws, so some of this information is just plain incorrect. Don't come for H-town if you're not properly informed, Houstonians are protective, and much more well informed about this city than you are.
While he’s wrong about the tornadoes and snow he isn’t wrong about much else
Agree, I live in Houston, too it's great
@@TheOtherBeuh he's wrong about how often it floods. He's wrong about the hurricanes. He's wrong about the weather in April and October, which is some of the best weather in the country during those months. He's wrong about the zoning laws. You can't just open a strip club anywhere. He's wrong about the traffic, 45 min commute. He also failed to mention that you don't have to drive all over town everyday. Most people live and work on the same side of town. He has no idea why we have sky scrapers scattered around the city. So that not everyone has to go to downtown to work. I'm sure there are more things he said that I missed that were wrong but I tuned him out near the end of the video
I want to move here
so he's wrong about the flooding?
I’ve lived in Houston all my life, the only natural disasters we get is floods and whataburger closing
Not Whataburger😭💀
Whataburger closing? Oh the horror 😰
FOR REAL
Exactly
Hearing Houstonians talk about Whataburger closing being a crisis is funny because it's true
Never seen a tornado in my life and I’ve lived here the whole time
go to the east side or north east towards humble where theres more prairie than building.
not just for the ocassional tornado, but because I don't know how much longer it'll last
there has been a tornado but we just went out it was a really fun experience 😁

We do have four seasons. Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer and Deer season.
Bruh Fr but you forgot the 5th summer in winter but also
Kind of cold but is still warm
Im a truck driver and I love the way the city is set up . Houston is a beautiful city
As a truck driver I'm sure you have driven through many cities so that's pretty high praise. I think the traffic here is quite mild compared to other major cities
not at all, you must love traffic.
It’s not a BAD place but I did hear it has a lot of traffic
This dude literally exaggerated everything
That's the point of these videos haha. Hope you enjoyed! :) Any other cities you'd want me to make a video about?
He did not exaggerate ANYthing!
Kevin Phillips damn sharknados
Tommy Nguyen fr wtf
Bro, I have lived in Houston for 14 yrs, and Texas for all 35 of my years. He didn't exaggerate shit. We literally joke daily about the bipolar nature of the weather here, the Mosquito are actually the size of birds, ~90% of my work mates spend at least 2 hrs a day in traffic, there are 0 zoning laws, floating fire ant death balls in the flood waters are a thing, and public transportation is a complete joke.
Tornado?? You should Delete this video
The fact isn’t accurate
There are no TORNADOES or SHARKNADOES and we don’t have that bad of hurricanes
We don’t have hail storms either
42DodgerBlue Videos in ur dreams maybe , YOURE WYLIN
I know right we don't have tornados
We haven’t had tornadoes in a while but it was also in the far out suberbs

No
Been here for a year now only flooded once and it all drained in five minutes

Daniel Najera cause he does not live in it what an idoit you have to live in houstin to ACTUALLY know what happens
I totally agree lol I was born in Houston and the traffic super pack also the weather changes constantly. Them floods are no joke. We really don’t get snow its super rare though.
Most Houston kids won't see more than one snowfall in their childhood, and they'll be lucky if it's enough to build a snowman over a foot tall.
I've had frost 3 times since 2017, one in 2017, one a month after, and one in February of this year. personally, the one in February 2021. 5 inches of ice depth in my area, 3 inches of snow, 1 inch of sleet and another inch for freezing rain ice. We had so much that it made small ice dunes. Brian Barringer I agree, but I think it's something to do with the fact that I was in a different part of Houston
@Abhijeet Kundu I live in fucking Texas, but yes I do get it. Canada and pretty much every other country that’s arctic or sub-arctic

Houston is actually pretty amazing. I grew up there and it has so much going for it. Houston has the best restaurants in the country. It is diverse, so you can get anything. It’s main problem it is over populated. You have to keep moving further out. But I will give you the weather, it’s crazy!
This right here is true. That’s why you got to get to the restaurants when it first open lol 😂
"floods ever week in summer" ok it's summer. Go outside your backyard and like if you DON'T see a flood
You just laying out just for your RUclips video.
Fun fact I live in heritage park in Webster which as you know is in Southeast Houston, and my neighborhood has been around since 1977 and not once has it flooded.
Good to see that Houston is being advised to not move too because I’m fine with things in Houston and don’t need more people taking my Houston land
Bro you must be rich if you own the whole Houston land lol

@@rockindbeard9079 exactly hurricanes, heat, floods are the reasons why people shouldn't really come and all these youtubers come here and they dont know what this city really is

Houston doesn't flood each week. maybe 2 times a year
Emily Gonzalez during storm season it pretty much floods every week.
Nah nah nah you exaggerating a bit lol it floods like once every month and it doesn't snow last time I saw snow here in Houston was over 10 years ago it was a bit of ice lol
Houston does flood a lot no exaggerating beeen here most my life the snowing 2 wice tornadoes nah
Naw im a houston native hes kinda right about ....not every week more like 3 times a month or so
Not even twice
I love living here lol, that said there’s no lie all this is true! Advice to anyone moving here, find a neighborhood somewhat near your work. Shortens the commute and you get to know people within your neighborhood better (banker, hairdresser, grocery staff).
It's not even close to being real there's barely any storms and it's not that warm in here
As Houstonian this man know nothing about Houston probably never even been to Houston and it’s not even that hot you jus can’t handle it ... if u can’t take the heat gtf out the kitchen 🤦🏾♀️dude jus exaggerating and it don’t even snow at all we get lil ice on cars never real snow like in Chicago it NY
Hey how long have you lived in Houston? Asking because I'm thinking about moving out there with my family. But he scared me with the natural disasters thing. Lol I moved from NY to Florida and haven't experienced anything too crazy yet. But he scared me with the tornadoes and flooding, I have a 1 year old son and want to keep him safe.
Nick A the weather stuff is all bull crap the only thing you have to worry about is minor flooding and that is it also never seen a tornado in Houston also never move to Dallas it’s shit garbage
@@Nerdykiddd thank you for that, I was actually looking at either Dallas or Austin. Would you recommend Austin?
Nick A Austin is good but it’s one of the most expensive cities in the U.S also the traffic is pretty insane if you want better help you can always search it up but ya it’s a pretty good place to live

i moved here when I married my husband. Every place has something. the heat, flooding, traffic, and housing prices are crazy, BUT I love it here. Its awesome! I am so glad I moved here and very happy to call it home.
Good points. One thing I like about Houston (moved here in the 80's) is that there are about 20 little village like areas. My fav is around Rice Univ and the Tex Medical Center. Other areas are Upper Kirby and Shepard at Westheimer. Those areas are so great. I moved here from another city and was amazed at the string of FLOWER SHOPS along Westheimer in the Galleria. Some are gone but they've just moved over inside the Loop. BTW: Weather--Ha! yesterday Jan 27, we played golf -- it was 60 deg at noon. Bright blue clear sky. On TV last night 1/2 the USA was under snow blizzards. Sure we had Harvey and Ike but we were back on track in a year or less. The beach at Galveston was crushed in Ike (2008) but by Memorial day only 8 months later, you wouldn't know the city had ever been in a hurricane.
im vietnamese and honestly i think this city is great. lived here my whole life.

He said it snows alot compared to other cities of the same latitude, which isn't incorrect.
It snows the years we have major hurricanes Ike and Harvey the last two times it snowed and we have in average a few days a year under freezing
@@hunteralh I remember I was 9 and had a AGT audition the next day. There was still frost on my roof a week later
I live on the edge of Houston, and a tornado vacuumed the neighbor's trailer right off the pad.
I have seen two funnel clouds in the Houston area...One, I was on my way home from work, and I just stopped, put my blinkers on, and watched it pass over the bridge ahead of me...
Yeah, like I have worked all over the Northern States. I will take the Houston weather anytime. Like the time my boss sent me to do a software fix in Chicago in March. It was friggin' snowing sideways for 2 days. I got on the airplane to come back to Houston. The guy in the next seat had never been to Houston. "Is it cold there." I said "Heck, NO, I hope you brought your golf clubs--its about 70 today." Just then the pilot come on to announce: "We will arrive in Houston at 2:45 and the present weather--Temp is 72 deg. and sunny and clear." The guy next to me just smiled and did a thumbs up.

As a Houstonian, I have to agree that our public transportation sucks and that we have bad traffic during traffic hour. But I would say the part about traffic is true for alot of the other states I have been too. I have never seen a tornado in my life, but we do have hurricane seasons. It snowed only twice in my whole life in Houston and both days we celebrated because we almost never get to see snow. Houston has its ups and downs, but overall, it is not a terrible place to be. Don’t worry it’s not even true-
10. Natural Disasters... Awesome! Keeps things interesting. Expect the sublime.
9. Taxes... Pretty low compared to the rest of the USA
8. Spread Out... Great! Lots of room to grow and you don't live on top of your neighbor. Better public transport is on the way.
7. Humidity. Yeah, that's true. It's hot and wet. In summer it feels like you're submerged in warm Jello.
6. Guns. Don't mess with Texas (or Texans).
5. Traffic. No, traffic isn't as bad as in many Eastern cities. Public transportation is getting better.
4. Zoning. Thank God! Houston has not succumbed to the tyranny of "professional city planners." Diversity, the unusual, the spontaneous, are the rule. Strange, even surreal proximities sometimes occur. This makes the urban fabric rapidly responsive to changing patterns of life. The examples given in the video are not common. Most residential neighborhoods are protected by deed restrictions.
3. Allergens? C'mon, if the 4th largest city is only the 9th worst for smog, it can't be all that bad.
2. Scary bugs and snakes. Roaches, sure. Mosquitoes, yeah. Snakes? No way.
1. Weather. Houston has no conceivable reason to want to be Miami, Gof forbid. Strange weather? See #10 above.
Houston is a great city, with great people and a thriving culture.
I agree with everything except 4. This is because without zoning neighborhoods and residential are literally being and have been built in flood zones. As a civil engineer I've learned that, yes, not everything needs a specific place. However, I know plenty of people who were unaware they lived in a flood zone until Harvey.
Cope
i lived in new york for 25 years i can do houston lol
Snakes forsure. Im in north Houston and ive seen copperheads, moccasins, and one rattlesnake.
Traffic is worse than all of the major east coast cities except NYC, don’t get your BS twisted
I live in Houston and there’s never tornados here also there’s barely any hurricanes that hit us and the only thing negative in Houston is the heat and traffic
Hey Robert, I lived in New York for 2 years. In Houston, we have some rain, wind, etc. But we never have more than 5 or 6 days
of cold (not freezing or snow) each year.) In New York it snowed 40 in. each year and cost the city $$Millions to remover--give me our heat (that's why we have AC ....LOL!
It's true hurricanes don't hit here often, we do get tropical storms more often and severe thunderstorms. Tornadoes are quite rare in Houston. They are isolated, weak, short-lived. Unlike Dallas where they get the worst kinds.
@@spartan7911 I agree Christos. You must live in Houston? I have lived here since 1980 and since then the weather 90% has been great. July and August a kind of bummed out but I don't do much in the sun...

Houston floods, is that really a small problem 🤦.
Just That Girl that’s why you do your research before and get yourself a place where it doesn’t flood. And plus if you live in a flood zone there is no way they will let you live there without having good insurance.
Meki s. Yeah since the last hurricane the city doesn’t allow new construction homes in a flood zone to be built low. All new homes are built higher now and what the guy said ^ home insurance

Really do love this video!!! 🥰 I've lived in Houston most of my life and truly love it but everything said here is true...Houston really is a great place to live or visit but there are a few things to be prepared for!
Born and raised and the worst issues are: humidity, inconsistent weather, occasional flooding (if the rain is too heavy and long), and the traffic. I also think there's a lack of entertainment since Astroworld was shut down but there are festivals and bars/restaurants to visit (as well as other downtown/mid-town attractions) so it's not the worst. I do agree that the spacial distance between places sucks but I'm used to it so it's just based on preference. Houston ain't bad but no place is perfect.
Houston is full please don't move to Houston, less people better traffic flow
Im on my way!
🤣🤣
Please DO NOT MOVE HERE-we are building freeways, schools, housing like crazy but still can't catch up..
@@hddun ikr I live in Sugarland and they just started building a housing addition behind mine and got finished with one last week. AND building some hotels across the city
Yes, oh please don't move here! We're FULLLLLLLLL
Donna A
Make room.
Donna A no we arent, we must grow more
eggrollsoup The more Houston grows the faster it will sink, literally.
Not Sure That’s true, is it due to the fracking and ground water pumping?
u funny
Lol, you were SPOT ON about the weather.
😂🤣😂
I LOVE my CITY!! ... H-town FOREVER!
me and my bf are in a long distance relationship, I live in Philippines and he lives in HTX. We’ve been talking about this for a while and i’m already saving and waiting for tickets to travel across the world to meet him. May the Lord Bless us all.
You can do this. 🤟🏽
I have a girlfriend that lives in Quezon Manila 🙂.
I’m from Houston and I agree don’t move here we have enough traffic already but you can visit everyone welcome 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yes please don’t move to Houston! We are FULL! This traffic is ridiculous 😡
we arent full, we need more people
That's true.
That part
Dallas is just as diverse and is way less racist.
Dammit well there goes my plan... thank you California 😤
Top ten reasons not to move to Houston
Me
Moving to Houston in 2 months and excited I’m finally getting the hell out of Florida.
@手ぇ 愚 ゃあ The guy that Beatup Superman Houston is a great city
Nah it’s not
True
I lived in Houston for 12 years, and I’m glad I don’t live there anymore
Why is tht
Yeah how come ?
Cuz it's ass
@@t2drippy556 yet you remain to have the houston rockets as ur pfp
I still plan on moving there in 2021!!!
My best friend lives in Northeast Houston and never complains!!!
Awesome! Hope you love it :) Any other cities you'd want me to make a video about?
From Here to There dawg there was literally 3 points that you made that were correct the rest was a bunch of bullshit SMH yes theres hella traffic, yes the mosquitoes are bad, and yes its hot but outside of those statements the rest were completely poppycot lies 💀
Please don’t, we have to many people here. If you weren’t born here, you’re not welcomed!
Just make sure you consider the flow of traffic to and from work when you move. Lol. If you're working downtown, the Northside drive will be a killer.
@@FromHeretoThere no dont ever make another video about other ppls city bc u dont know how to make good videos about it
It's summer all Year around 😂 I love Houston born and raised
Isn't a blast of a wild ride that we cannot get out? 😂
@@user-xt5ms1eo2e It's supposed to warm back up also tho smh
@@user-xt5ms1eo2e and still no snow after 2 years of snow day.
No it's not. I loved Houston, but this is a lie. It's cold for about 2 months. I'm from Ohio and I can tell you yalls cold is much worse than Ohio cold because y'all have alot of moisture in the air. Yalls cold is bone chilling lol.
@@thegamingchef3304 it's almost 70 right now WTF you talking about
I've been living in houston since 1998. Between 2000 and 2005, we experienced a couple of tornadoes but nothing major. After that I haven't heard of tornado warnings
My husband is from there and I have never liked visiting there. Driving to see the large skyline at night was my only favorite part about the city. Codes unrelated, you are so on it. That helped me understand they a trailer home could next to a mansion. Now I know and glad I never moved there.
I had lived in Davis, California for 22 years. I have lived in Houston since 2011. I love Houston more than Davis! The video really misleads people too much!
California is better than Texas in my opinion
Davis CA is stuck in the 1980's - and the people are mean. Can't wait to get out of Davis. See you in Texas!
@@amal7772 better in what?
@@ollaolla480 Cali is better at stealing from it's citizens, impoverishing it's citizens, stealing away fights from citizens, creating homelessness
This dude can’t be. Serious EVERY THIS HE SAID IS VERY AND I MEAN VERY EXAGGERATED
Hahahhaha, I have lived in houston for 10 years and I have never seen any of these things that he explained, apparently this guy has never lived in houston
@Rasiel Matos
You have never seen floods and Hurricanes, and heat, and mosquitos, and horrendos traffic congestion, and high toll fees, and high property taxes and high crime rate?
I live in Katy, and it is not so bad there. But sometimes, when I go to a gas station at night in Houston, I am scared of getting shot, robbed or raped.
He's doing us a favor. Keep outsiders out 😂
@@soniaf7794 dude I haven't heard a gun shot in texas for a long time

Just put the News on KPRC channel 2, channel 11, 13 or Fox 26 at 6 pm. We have dead people every day.
Are you sure you live in Houston?
I moved to Houston in '77 because of the job market. I still live there part time....most of the time in CA but go back to Houston for a month or so every once in a while. It's a great place to live & work.
I’ve been in Houston my whole life, pretty rude for someone to try and attack home.
I grew up in alief
Is public transit actually really bad? I hear some people say its good and people like him say its bad
Yup🇵🇷💯👌
this not the first time he came for us smh
Agree
Texas is a good state even though it doesnt snow there and it is very hot dont you dare shine negativity on us Houston people
True about the snow but in December or probably in the winter of 2017, there was snow, but melted in a day.
It snows in Dallas.
I take it you never lived in the panhandle High Plains. It snows in Lubbock and Amarillo.
Texas does snow in some places
Good old Texas has a reputation for being the biggest out of 49 out of 50 of our states. Actually, Texas is so big, that it has it's parts where the weather is hot to the extreme, cold to the extreme and places with loveable weather also.
If Houston Texas is so bad, why are people moving here from all over.
He just said those are some flaws still an amazing city
I love houston with all my ❤ and i won't move any where else
I love Houston I started out there and then moved cuz of oil field so lived in west Texas I lived in valley ab San Antonio, Austin an out of all of them I choose Houston
I’ve been living here all my life, 21 years and still counting! That fact that you’re saying this makes me think that you’ve probably never been to Houston!
what is wrong about what he said. are you saying the traffic is perfect in houston?
Lmao im sorry I’ve lived in Houston my whole life and I suggest you take this down, consult with a real houstonian and redo this because it’s very inaccurate 😂 sorry
Whats wrong about about the fact you need a car and that there's zero walkability
Classic houatonian response lol
Hey its a great city
@@jdlc903 whats wrong with somone spreading false facts about your city and just using Wikipedia pages to judge your city i dont know i guess im just randomly offended
@@gabriellemorlet8732 calm down and go sort out your own problems you little pleb
Thank you so much--very fair, and well done I thought. People really should think--and think yet again, before moving--here, or any other place because no place on this earth is perfect, no place has not downside.
Thank you...we appreciate your negative publicity. We had a big population boom in the last decade which contributed to higher property taxes, flooding (tearing down trees for more houses/cement), and many of the things mentioned. We need to have the migration halt and this should do it.
very funny & very educational, I learn a lot, very cool. great job, mango
Lmao lived here 24 years and counting and the only thing that he is correct about in this video is traffic. Sometimes temperature. Other thank that all bull💩 .
I live in The Woodlands. A Houston suburb. Harvey didn't hurt us, and we normally have sunny, lovely weather.
This aged well
Seriously anyone thinking about moving to Houston DONT... we’re FULL.
Damn straight ... from work to home used to take 10min
Now it takes up to 45min to travel 15 miles ...to many damn people
Yikes I’m moving there in July 🙈
@@pandacheong2531 Houston is literally the 4th most populated city in the U.S. NYC, LA, and
Chicago are the only cities more populated. Houston's population is actually significantly higher than 3 of the six you named.
@@pandacheong2531 well quit trying to say Houston has all this room, because it doesn't.
thats soo true! But still his facts are mostly fake.
Houston isn’t bad at all really there’s just a few things like traffic and heat.
I have lived in houston since 1978, i remember it snowing only 6 times this entire time. And it really rarely gets in the 20s maybe once or twice a year.
