The dfam has 2 oscs, maybe keep that in mind when designing sounds that should sound like a dfam 😅 I’m glad there is a don’t recommend channel again function

Well most of the demos only use 2or 3 voices and the various mutes show the complexity of a single voice. But you're right, there's obviously more happening here than 2 oscillators. I did consider restricting things to one voice and 8 steps, and using the individual pitch of steps - but that's an incredibly painful way to program the LXR. Instead I tried to capture the "spirit" of a DFAM: pitchmod hits combined with varying noise levels.

Funny how I really want to like the LXR-2 but every video I watched decided against it, especially this video.

:D lol - I think the problem here is you're getting a very thick serving. Sounds like you need just a light sprinkle.

Just wondering, in your opinion, what about the LXR made you decide against it?

@@aopaul In my opinion and in every video I watched it sounded very hard, industrial, soulless and not musical at all. I guess it just doesn’t rock my boat. The sequencer is cool though.

@@mauriziomauricone Ah! Thanks for the reply. Yes, this is exactly why I got it, heh, those industrial sounds. It can do more musical stuff, but takes more adjusting. The more traditional drum sounds I go to Novation Tracks. Or for really 'realistic' drums... the Anyma Phi makes some great percussive sounds!

It's a drum synth so if you don't like the sounds you hear others make, you can always design your own drum sounds. That's kind of the central concept of the machine, and in that sense similar to a nord drum 2, except this has its own performance forward interface.

"Endorsed by Fatty Bumflake" a standard of scrutiny by which all should be judged.
