Ahmad Rifiki It’s safer to have protected contact between the two of them, as all accredited facilities practice protected contact with large carnivores; it’s clear she absolutely adores him but that doesn’t mean she can’t hurt him even unintentionally. She’s still a wild cat & she still has teeth & claws that can do damage. Maya is considered a large predator & wild black leopards can take down prey twice their size so it’s better this way, they clearly have a great relationship & that’s amazing to see, she trusts Giles so much. ♥️♥️
Prajwal A Yes just like most large carnivores & big cat species. Even though they’re around people they love & adore & vice versa, that predatory instinct is still there, albeit it can sometimes be buried deep down.
you can see the ABSOLUTE JOY on Maya when she sees him. she wants to absolutely snuggle him do that cat thing where they rub against their human. also how do I find Giles and the bears video?
His videos are not worth watching because of the short time spand. One cannot get the educational aspect of his work with Maya. 5 minute videos is not cutting it
Giles, you are a superhero and an earth angel to your big cats and the bears in Laos. The BBC 2 parter about the beautiful Sun and Moon Bears was so important, inspiring and magical. Poor David and Jane tho :'(
She wasn't a pet. Giles rescued her as a cub because her mother abandoned her, and raised her. She lives in the Big Cat Sanctuary. You can't keep jaguars as pets.
