@@JFields4 for freelance writing, it depends on how quickly you can find clients. In the blog post linked in the description, you can find my tips for responding to job listings. You can also find my Instagram handle in the description. Thanks for watching!
@@JFields4 check out the description for a link to a blog post I wrote about teaching English with VIPKID! It has everything you need to know. Nope, never been to Acapulco but would like to go once it's safe to travel again!
Excellent presentation, as always. The description of teaching children in China was highly entertaining. I had never heard of VIPKid. My own teaching was always with older teens with fairly high levels of proficiency so I have little experience with children. It is not easy to teach children. You have to be not only patient but also very creative. I wonder how you could teach 4 year olds online. We have some six and seven year old learners on Zoom but that is as young as we have been able to go. Do you have any tips you would like to share?
You've got it, Ray: it's not easy to teach kids online. My best tip for teaching kids online is to bring the energy. I used to tell people who were applying for VIPKID that if they thought they were too crazy in their interview than they probably got the job. You really have to be over the top for it to translate through the screen. We talked about this a bit the other day, but I got really into talking with my hands to up the energy: total physical response. It was exhausting work 😅 I also think that when you're teaching little kids encouraging them to repeat is everything esp for new students who are shy or just learning. Those were wild days.... My face used to hurt from smiling so much 😁
@CO if you can bring the energy, then you're likely a good fit for online teaching. My face used to actually hurt from smiling so much after my shifts!
I think if you got more into Mexican cuisine/cooking, you could share that online to people wanting to do the same back home. It sounds like you make a very lovely guac.
I definitely need to set aside some time for it. It's so easy to get into a rut with cooking 😅 I've been thinking about trying out some recipes & vlogging it... I'm pretty good at making crema de chile poblano 🤓🇲🇽

Watching many tour videos of Mexico and seeing some of the goods available makes me wish for those goods to be found online to purchase. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Dawn
Nice, Alex Based on your experience working remotely. What would you think would be ideal for someone who only needs to live in Mexico for a year but want to get paid in US dollars. Also I am a tech guy and really good at troubleshooting. Any tips.?

Hi, Tom! You don't necessarily need a teaching degree to work for VIPKID if you already have a bachelor's degree. It doesn't matter what that degree is in. The most important thing to get hired by VIPKID is to have lots and lots of energy. The company will want to see that in your interview, and parents will want to see that when they're deciding whether or not to sign their child up for a class with you. If that doesn't sound like your teaching style, there are lots of other companies out there & I encourage you to check them out: italki, 51Talk, Dada. Cambly, etc.. Good luck, Tom!

In Mazatlan and PV, many ex pats haven't filed USA taxes for years: This means many things: 1) they don't build retirement account, they don't have coverage of disability for themselves or family 2) they didn't get the thousands in stimulus payments 3) they may be liable for the 50% penalty for failure to disclosure Mexican assets/accounts. Her pronunciation sounds amazing, nice, soft. I'm Mexican and I'm learning and practicing English for almost ten years, most of the time I have done it on my own. Congratulations for her work and videos on RUclips. Greetings from Sonora, México, 🇲🇽 🥰 👍, which is a border state with Arizona, USA.

Hello.... great channel and videos!! I have been travelling around Mexico for the last 10 years!!! I love Queretaro!!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching, Steve!

How did you handle the legalities, like registering your business, LLC, EIN, etc. before (or after) you moved to Mexico?
I definitely plan on becoming a dual citizen. I am looking for some part-time work somehow.
Wishing you all the best, Caleb!
I am wondering if you registered your business in the US or Mexico? And, how did you handle things like registering your business, LLC formation, EIN (or CURP)? How did you make those decisions, and what resources did you consult to learn those skills?
Unfortunately VIPkid is no longer available as the Chinese government outlawed those platforms. My partner taught with them for a couple years.

I have always found over time that I lose all my money on rent and prices of real estate and rent always just spiraling higher and higher. It can be very stressful just to put a roof over your head. So that is why I am lookint into Mexico. Do you have any recommendation or think of potentially buying there yourself?
Hi. Thanks for the great video's. You asked question for suggestions on what goods to offer for sale. I would like to see/find where to purchase local made goods online. Ie: jewelry, clothing, shoes.
Amazon doesn't seem to be a good resource to support small businesses from Mexico. Watching many tour videos of Mexico and seeing some of the goods available makes me wish for those goods to be found online to purchase.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. Dawn

Based on your experience working remotely. What would you think would be ideal for someone who only needs to live in Mexico for a year but want to get paid in US dollars. I do not have a college degree but have a HS diploma, Spanish bilingual and I have 6 years of work experience in customer service. I've been working in the private security field for 4 years now but I've worked at the oil industry as well and I don't think any of my experience is related to working full time on my computer. Also I am a tech guy and really good at troubleshooting.
Any tips.?

I don't see links to the job boards. Does anyone know?
I'm planning on moving to Tijuana next month or so and thinking about just selling on the internet such as eBay so that I don't have to fight traffic crossing into San Diego which can take between 1-3 hours. As long as you're living in Mexico as a temporary resident, you aren't considered a Mexican resident for taxation purposes. This article provides more info for US expats: www.greenbacktaxservices.com/blog/expat-taxes-explained-living-mexico/
Where can I contact you for questions about moving to Mexico?
I enjoyed watching your video. Very informative. I am looking to changing careers and moving to Mexico with my family from the US. My only hangup is work. Im 48 years old and was looking to getting into teaching english. I know about VIPKid and working towards getting my teaching degree. I guess my question would be does vipkid look at age of the applying teachers? Thanks in adavance.
@@alex-wittman thank you for the info.
Hello, I would like to know why you guys did not choose Spain or Portugal to live, not necessarily in Madrid or Lisbon.
Hi, Ariel! We did live in Spain for two years (Madrid). But after two years, we just wanted something different. I have a video about why we decided to move to Mexico, if you're interested.
Why not just comply while living in Mexico? Let me know if you want to market this idea: My record for "non filer" client is 33 years.
